This game is a hidden gem. I story is really interesting from the start. I don't want to spoil anything because this is more something you should experience.The music is top-notch and the fact the soundtrack was released free is baller and I will be adding it to my regularly listened to playlists. The world really interesting and if you like speculative biology and were fascinated by subnautica's world, you'll love this.

Phenomenal game, I haven't seen such a fun, quirky and terrifying game like this done the way it's been done before. It has a breathtaking story of unity and loyalty with a contrasting grotesque kind of dystopian world that has you on your toes whether it's finding food, powerups, looking out for enemies or finding water. I can't recommend this game enough. I finished it 20 mins ago of my writing this and my mind is still in awe from the journey this game brought me on. If you want to watch some gameplay, Jerma has a few good VODS. 10/10 Don't get too attatched to your lil dudes

ACE Team is undeniably a powerhouse of creativity, and The Eternal Cylinder is yet another testament to their unconventional approach. The environments and creatures in The Eternal Cylinder are spectacular, presenting a world that is both intriguing and beautifully alien. Playing as the Trebhums, creatures who mutate and evolve to survive an ever-present threat, provides an engaging foundation. The mutation mechanic is a fun tool, compelling players to continuously adapt in a hostile and dynamic environment—at least in theory. Despite its visual and conceptual creativity, however, the game struggles somewhat with clear, cohesive game design. Core mechanics, goals, and systems often feel under-explained, leaving players dependent on heavy-handed tutorial prompts. Even then, pacing frequently suffers as frustration disrupts the intended flow of gameplay. The focus on building and nurturing a 'family' of Trebhums, along with discovering permanent mutation abilities, feels unnecessarily convoluted. Unfortunately, these mechanics never fully realize their potential, particularly as the game progresses. By the final act, the urgency to reach the conclusion overshadowed any incentive to engage with deeper mechanics. Narratively, the game benefits from a wonderful narrator and intriguing, thought-provoking themes. However, it insists heavily on ambiguity and subtlety, occasionally at the expense of strong story beats and impactful revelations. While not inherently negative, a clearer narrative structure could have elevated the overall experience in my humble opinion. ACE Team has consistently produced games that might be considered an acquired taste, and The Eternal Cylinder is no exception. Although it might not be their strongest title, it undeniably possesses its own unique wonders. If you are initially intrigued and willing to endure some shortcomings in game design, The Eternal Cylinder offers an experience worth exploring.

Interesting concept, captivating narrator, but the gameplay is a bit boring. Neither silly nor serious, it's stuck in a perpetual loop of not knowing what to do with the player's time. I loved the cylinder and all the questions that came with it though
