ARE STORY AND STORY-TELLING GOOD? The story is as messy as Witcher 1, if not even messier. The game starts with we seeing Geralt in prison, cuffed, and getting tortured by some fat f*ck prison guards, then we learn he is suspected for King Foltest's assasination, while Vernon Roche is interrogeting him, after he tell things happened to him Geralt wants to go after Kingslayer Letho to clean his name, and together with Roche they sail to Flotsam, there we meet with Elven leader Iorveth guarding Letho, he says Letho is his guest, then proceeds to attack our heroes, then we go into city, save Zoltan & Dandelion from getting hanged for dumb reasons, then Letho decides to betray Iorveth, Geralt uses this chance to get Letho, at last we meet, fight, since it's scriptted fight Letho beats Geralt even tho you win the actual fight with full health, then goes after Triss to make him teleport to Aedirn, then left her to die in a trol lair, somehow trol fall in love with Triss and save her, otherwise she would be dead, then we saw Iorveth & Roche dueling, and for some reason these both guys who want to kill each other decides to spare the loser, then Geralt goes after Triss to find her, but instead finds himself in the middle of big cursed battlefield, and to find the Triss he has to lift this curse first, to lift we work with mages/sorceresess, lift it, then go after Triss again, and along the way finds a figurine looking like chess piece from a dead body, we progress through camps to find the Triss, and at some point Geralt decides to let Ambassador Shilard Fitz's men to capture, and handcuff him, he takes figurine, break it, and surprise it's Triss turned into figurine by the sorceresses named Cynthia (which later turns out to be a Nilfgaardian spy BTW) and Ambassador orders Geralt to be executed, Roche saves his *ss in last second, Geralt leaves to get more info from Philippa to Vergen, meanwhile Ambassador tells his sorceresess to turn Triss into her normal form, so he can torture information out of her, and when she is turned into human wee see her naked in a very humilating position. Some time passes, Geralt comes into Loc Muinne to find the Triss, he finds it, and if you decide to save her you will go to confront sorcerercess named Sile, while Kings, etc, discussing latest events, Triss talks about how she is responsible for King Demaven's assasination, King Radovid orders her to be arrested, and she somehow uses Saskia, a dragon she should have no power over to save her, after going after, and deciding to kill her or not Geralt goes back to talk with Letho, they talk, Geralt learns more about his past, and actions of Letho, turns out Letho killed all those kings just so Nilfgaardian Emperor Emhyr promised him to restore his Viper Witcher school... You decide to fight, and kill him or not, the ending cutscene starts, shows us what's happened after our actions, and most importantly, a Witch Hunt starts for all magical beings. Some stuff is different depending on who you sided with, but the story is messy regardless. STILL AMNESTIC OR NOT? Geralt recovers most of his memories until the end of this game, like remembering he got killed by a mere human with a pitchfork 5 years ago, which is bullsh*t. Geralt is a Witcher with superhuman reflexes, with or without a crushed leg, or in a bad position; it doesn't matter; he should be able to dodge it. We learn a lot of info about the Wild Hunt as well, like what they are, their connection with Geralt, and Yennefer, etc. HOW ABOUT SIDE QUESTS, AND SIDE STUFF WE CAN DO? We have way more variety of quests designs compared to first game, and they are fun to play, side quests are mostly interesting and worth doing, I found Trol Quests especially fun to do, and aside from them, there are three side-stuff you can do, Dice Poker, Fist Fight, and Arm Wresting, even tho they are not great or anything their existence is still kind of good. HOW ABOUT GERALT? The first game's Geralt was way better than this one; it had more personality, even had some philosophical views, etc, compared to that, this game's Geralt feels quite empty. Not to forget how many times his *ss got handled to him, and how stupid decisions he made, and he would be dead if not for his ''luck'' HOW ABOUT TRISS? Triss is done dirty in this game as well; she doesn't feel like the powerful sorceress we know, and she spends almost the whole game as a figurine, imprisoned and tortured. HOW ABOUT RPG STUFF LIKE CHOICES, ETC? RPG elements and choice of power are still present, and done well like the first game. Dialogue options are a bit different in this game; there are some icons and signs in it, and Geralt can use his powers to change some stuff. But even tho they are well-done, sadly, none of the choices you made in this game have a significant effect on the Witcher 3. HOW ABOUT THE GAMEPLAY & COMBAT? Combat is way better than the first game; now it's like most ARPG games with free attack movements, with some combos, parry, and takedown mechanics, letting you take down your opponent with a takedown animation. In fact, multiple takedowns are available as a skill as well. Movement speed is slower than the first game, FOV is too close again, we have some stealth missions, and even missions you play as other characters as well. GEAR VARIETY IS GOOD? Gear variety of the game is quite good, and there are tons of weapons and armors to use, but all gears imported from the first game are trash, and none of the gears you collected in this game can be imported to the Witcher 3. HOW ABOUT SKILLS? Honestly, the skill tree is even worse than the first game since it doesn't even have skills that let you improve stats and change the animations of swords; they are all passive skills. HEALING SUCKS! You can't use potions in combat, and the only way to use them is while meditating before combat. What's worse is that food is now labeled as ''junk'' and doesn't heal you. So the only way to heal is just to wait for your regeneration to kick in, run from your enemy, etc, which is one of the dumbest things I have ever seen. ENEMY & BOSS VARIETY IS GOOD? Enemy and BOSS variety is quite poor; there are not so many enemy types, and the game has only 2 real BOSS fights with actual mechanics, others are just side BOSSES that become elite enemies later on, nothing but bullet Sponges. HOW ABOUT VISUAL PARTS OF THE GAME? The world, place, armor, weapon, UI-HUD designs are pretty good, but new character designs, especially Triss & her new outfit, sucks, and along with this duplicate NPC problem still exists, but it's somehow less visible. HOW ABOUT THE OPEN WORLD? The world makes you feel you are in a true RPG world with the ambiance, music, NPCS, how the world is colored, and the general design it has. And depending on your choices, certain places like towns, etc, change, and that's quite immersive. But the map system sucks; sometimes it's almost impossible to know where to go because quests don't tell you where to go, or don't give any directions. HOW ABOUT ENDING? Your choices don't really change the ending. In the end Witch Hunt starts and almost none of the choices you made here carry over to the Witcher 3, and the ones that carry over do not change anything significant at all. OUTCOME EVALUATION I'm suggesting the game because it's a sequel, so you are already balls in, and from almost every other part it does a pretty good job, and only fails with the main story and enemies/bosses. RATINGS [*]Main Story & Story-Telling = 4 [*]RPG Details = 7 [*]Gameplay Mechanics = 8 [*]Armor & Weapon Variety = 10 [*]Enemy & BOSS Variety = 5 [*]Open World = 9 [*]Visual Style & Quality = 8 [*]Endings = 5 [*]General Rating = 7

The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings | ★★★☆☆ The game has a really rough start: clunky movement, a lot of bugs (even the tutorial has one), and low FPS (though there’s a d3d9_39.dll fix for that). Somehow, I managed to push through, and once it opened up into the semi-open world, it became much more tolerable. But idk, maybe the longer you play, the more you just get used to it. I see what they were going for with the gameplay and mechanics. While it’s still not fully refined, it’s honestly a great RPG design for 2011. I think the skill tree actually matters here, it improves the gameplay and makes things a lot easier, so you’re pretty much forced to finish side quests to level up. It has some weird stealth segments that aren’t very fun since the movement feels super janky. There’s also a ton of QTEs that spawn out of nowhere, sometimes even in cutscenes or boss fights and they really catch you off guard. I had a lot of crashes here and there, and when your saves start piling up (mostly from autosaves throughout the campaign), the menu starts getting noticeably slower. It honestly makes me question the state of the un-enhanced version of this game. Overall, the game has a very rough first half and a much better second half. That’s probably why only 30% of players (based on achievements) even made it past Chapter 1, they couldn’t stand the jank, especially when trying this off after Witcher 3. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3521951954 PC Specs CPU i5-14600k GPU RX6800 XT RAM 16GB

Quick Review: My score 9.5 Presentation: The Presentation of The Witcher 2 is wonderful, featuring an evolving story based on your decisions, the game is best described as a perfect mixture of Dragon Age Origins and the Gothic series. Game play: Geralt is Witcher and as the name applies he is equipped with an arsenal of magic attack abilities and 2 swords, a steel one for humanoids and a silver one for monsters. You play through a Prologue, 3 chapters and an epilogue each chapter besides the epilogue has their own map, each map plays as a new sandbox location. These places evolve base on your decisions and will grow as your character grows, combat is fast paced and can best be described as AAA version of the Gothic series with just a little bit of Assassin Creed thrown in. Tactics will also play a role in the game play as you can buy and craft armor, bombs, potions and traps, all which can play a decisive role in combat.
