Comparing with Sangokushi Taisen, it has faithfully scratch that itch. These are the things that I like. 1. You can setup your deck with guaranteed cards at the start, so its not fully roguelite, but partially, after that you have some limited control over the type of cards you pull along the way to add to your deck. Combat is conducted in 3 phases of increasing armies 2. There are perks on the card thats equivalent to "repeating charge" on the arcade version (pulling the cavalry card back n forth to simulate charge, disengage, charge). There is also a perk thats equivalent to "arc sweeping" on your spears. Those are great ideas to borrow from the original game plus many other grreat perk ideas added. 3. During battle, its not like the units will only move forward, you can control the first movement of the units to move any direction you want, to a single waypoint anywhere on the battlefield, so its more control than you think. 4. Game is still at early access and look promising. Its fun and addictive, not to mention i got it at $5, well worth the price, kept me entertained for 5 hours straight on my 1st play. Some suggestions for developer 1. More choices of Gunshi 2. Any way to include "counterspell" or 反计 3. Can add the perk of Fences which are important to archers 4. What about the random trigger 1v1 duels 5. Other units or maybe sub-class units, like archers can have repeating crossbow unit, cavalry can have elephant units, heavy armoured cavalry, etc 6. Can add more perks like Taunt, Link or Defender (when unit retreats, have 2nd life staying at castle to counter against 1st siege) 7. Can carry over some unused points from Initial Deck to OPN battle card adding selection 8. Exchange/Pick-a-card from those Wine of Trust inventory items? Its quite frustrating to not unlock the card you want. Like 10 exchange 1. 9. Tutorial shouldnt force player to fight in Gunshi Chronicles before they are even ready, or maybe leave that to later on. I havent even got the chance to edit my initial deck then thrown into battle. TIPS FOR BEGINNERS: You have to change your Gunshi (Strategist) to unlock the different cards under his list (Warlord Deplyment). Its not very obvious in the tutorial

It’s rough around the edges but overall good game. The UI is a little clunky and theres things that still need to be translated. Hopefully the game improves as it is still in early access.

Such a nostalgic trip! I used to play the physical Sangokushi Taisen and collect the cards, and it's great to see it back digitally. Although it lacks the real-time physical card movement of the arcade version, the strategy and gameplay are still wonderfully intact. A fantastic digital adaptation!

Sangokushi BOND is a spiritual successor of Sangokushi Taisen, a RTS arcade game featuring physical collectible card as medium to summon the warlord into the game as well as controller to move / command the said warlord in-game. The gameplay is quite niche and may not for everyone, but it did pretty well on its genre, and if you like the original game, you'll like this. At current state, the game is totally playable and the english translation is done pretty well, however it needs A LOT of improvement: cons: - there's some untranslated part, mostly clickable button so it doesnt matter much - quite grindy and repetitive (I really hope that theres speed up button for siege and not stopping every time warlord evacuating during siege) - no surrender button, if you losing the battle (even against npc), you will have to wait until the very end, including waiting the slow siege - you cant skip the tutorial - discord and other community support mostly in japanese at plus side, this game has decency of not locking content behind dlc aside of some minor cosmetic, as the dlc is more 'pay to unlock stuff faster', and also considering this game regional price is equivalent to playing Sangokushi Taisen THREE times in arcade, it's insta buy for me.

This game is really fun! it might be in early access but it already has a ton of things to do. There is PVP, but that can be asynchronous with the armies of other people or real time if you find someone to battle with. Since it is an auto battler, what you will be doing is creating synergies of abilities for the units in your deck and managing the formations and tactics before the battle. the roguelite part is how you get units in the map phase. Most units follow a rock paper scissor system but there are special units that have specific purposes such as siege units and infantry. The goal would be to take the castle of the opponent or at least make it so your castle is in better condition at the end of the rounds. And the battles are exiting to see because even if they might seem close the stratagems are the things that will give you and edge and you can see how everything plays out in the battlefield. Because the battles are short it does not feel like you wasted your time even if you lose. If you play in English, There are some small UI parts that might still be in Japanese but the translation and all the info you need to play is there. And the DLC its really just a time saver because u can get everything ingame except the bonuses which are just cosmetics for your profile banner.
