It's the game I've been playing the most offline lately (because I've been an earthquake victim and haven't had a stable internet connection since February 6). In one word, amazing.

Torchlight 2 is basically Diablo 2 but with 3D graphics and a more upbeat story. It feels more like Diablo 2 than either of D2's official sequels. It even has classic features like local single player, LAN server options, and the complete lack of an in-game store. Runs great on Linux via Proton. If you're looking for something similar to Diablo 2 but don't want to be depressed go ahead and try this one. It routinely goes on sale for $4. You can't even get a burger for that much anymore.

A very nice old school ARPG with decent options of endgame and crafting. Not so much spell and build choices. The low-poly style works well with lighting. The overall feeling is a fun casual ARPG, but still more interesting than Diablo IV.

Torchlight 2 is a perfect "casual ARPG". Whether games like Path of Exile are too complicated for you or you just want to put some music on and clear maps while doing quests... this game is for you. I also quite like the variety in environment and enemys. Furthermore this game does not just flood the screen with "trash mobs" for you to 1 shot. While there are still many enemys at once, some of with arent too strong, you will actually need to kite or dodge enemy attacks. I like that. Its the same with bosses. They feel actually strong and will put on a fight. There are 4 classes witch all play quite diffrently and can be build in many diffrent ways (like 5 - 10 as I said its more of a simple arpg but still has enough build variety to keep you hooked). I recomend getting reskill potion mod so you can test diffrent builds while you go. No point in not beeing able to reskill on your first character of a new class. Also notice how this is a finished product with no modern bullshit like live service, gatcha, pay 2 win and so on. You pay like 20 bucks and get to enjoy everything the game has to offer + extra content from mods if you like. Overall very cool game, just put on some music and enjoy :)
