apparently people say it's like some backpack game, but I never played that, so I'll tell you what I like about this one it's like the bazaar but with actual animations in the battles and with some serious board state customization but WITHOUT the good music in my opinion, music is the most important part of a video game, so since this game has subpar music I must rate it at a solid 8.6/10 ez purchase recommendation hands down

There's very significant balance issues that lead to a specific few starts being objectively better than the rest for winrate, and the developers seem to favor an incremental patch approach that addresses imbalances slower than they are added in, but the core mechanics are good enough that I keep playing anyway. Besides, the ranking system is the opposite of Backpack Battles in that its largely a time played * skill level race, and not attempting to emulate things like mmr (barring a few power-increasing unlocks causing a new matchmaking pool) or strict opponents with the same W/L as you. It helps that there isn't another auto battler on the market yet that meets my preferences. Most of the competition is dead, has timers too strict for me, or has P2W or otherwise repulsive monetization, etc.

It's a great game, balancing is actually better than most people assume. There are units that are abominations and will bend you over without even offering to take you out for lunch, however this can easily be countered by bringing a few friends. Units that seem overpowered can easily be dealt with in specific circumstances, it's all about identifying your biggest weaknesses and building around it. Are you weak to massive hard hitting units? No problem, throw a unit down that spawns smaller guys periodically and you're good! Vulnerable to summoning armies? Play a unit that has aoe and it'll help turn the tides in your favor. I've even done some builds that did virtually no damage, just made a bunch of chunky boys with armor that would just push everything off the table. There are so many different ways to play this game, it's incredibly refreshing. It seems like just another backpack style game, but it has significantly more depth than all of them. I could easily recommend even at a higher price. I can see this game getting a lot better over time, if anything else is added that is.

Backpack Battles but better. Picked it up to check out before playing other things. That did not happen. Played this for 12 hours straight. Absolute steal for the money if you like auto battlers, a must try!
