I very much enjoyed this game. It is a very simple, cute, and cozy shop sim. The stories for all the characters aren't very long, but they all very heartwarming. Speaking of characters, I love the amount of queer representation in this game! I just wish there were more items and decorations we could use to make thematic departments in our shops. Which brings me to my only complaint/suggestion for the game. Once you 100% the game, the replayability pull of the game is making your Thrift Shop thematic and aesthetic. Which is great, I love the isometric pixel art style and cozy decorating is why we bought the game right? But it irks me that my Kitchen, Clothing, Games, and Electronics sections stay packed, but my Queer and Witchy sections are always empty because they show up in the phone so much less. And when they do finally show up it's like 6 fanny packs, 3 tank tops, 3 incense sticks, and a tote bag. I would like to see some end-game feature that lets us buy specific categories of items, even if it's at a higher cost than the blind boxes from the locals. That way I still have a reason to play and decorate my shop even after I 100% the game. But all-in-all this is a wonderful game and the one complaint about not being able to fill out certain sections of my store doesn't take away from the fun you'll have up until and beyond that pain point. The game is well put together and I can understand if the devs want to leave it where it's at. I will say though, if they don't wish to do any more updates on it and add any new features, items, or decorations, I do wish they would open up a steam workshop for it so the community can add their own features and decorations!
I really enjoy this game but I've played so much that the achievements and growth just stops. I really hope they add a sandbox mode where you can have a lot more rooms and customers! I feel like it would be a lot of fun being able to fully customize the shop even more. Please take that into consideration! Such a cute cozy relaxing game.
I really enjoy this game, it is a lot of fun and the organization aspect is great, reminicent of Unpacking. There is a good variety of items and colours. I do wish there were more rooms and achievements and gameplay as it kind of stops but I just hope they keep adding onto this game with updates. It has a great beginning.
Before I get into it, this game is about running a thrift store BUT it isn't a management or simulation game. It's an organization and decoration game. Absolutely nothing wrong with that, just tempering expectations. This is a super cute game, but I have somewhat mixed feelings. I think it ended up being a little too simple and laid back for me personally. The gameplay loop is established early on and never changes in complexity: get boxes of random items to sell, organize them in your shop, buy more furniture/decor, add more rooms, host an event. No new mechanics are added after the first 20-30 minutes. In fact, I believe the demo shows you all the mechanics you'll encounter in the game, so I'd suggest getting the demo and see if you're interested in spending a few hours doing exactly that. Although maybe a little too simple, it was still satisfying in an "opening loot boxes" kind of way to get boxes of thrift items and see what each box contained. The game does have tons of little pixel art items of the type you might find in a thrift store. Organizing them could be a bit annoying, and organizing the shop was what I spent most of my time doing. You might plan to put a "kitchen item" section in a certain spot only to find yourself inundated with kitchen items and spilling out into, I dunno, your book section or whatever. The game also had customer stories, each of which was cute but none of which I found memorable or impactful. So...worth it if you're into chill organizing games with cute graphics, maybe not worth it if you're more into management games or narrative games.
