Good game and very fun to play. Only downside for me is that somehow most units can climb walls which makes it unplayable since i like playing sieges and having them storm the gates... not roll over the walls.

UEBS2 has way more playability than I expected (after playing UEBS1 a few years ago), with the detail in unit appearance, actually playable army scales on a normal pc (I can run 3,000,000 soldiers), maps with usable castle walls for defense, different unit stats that make each of them have a unique fighting style, the ability to edit unit stats, a crazy ton of mods to download and edit, the body piling and blood pooling systems, smart unit pathing, physics for impact hits throwing units around, the ability to play as a unit in 1st person, the ability to command armies in RTS mode, etc. I have been addicted to this game for the past few weeks, and I haven't even scratched the surface of all the things I want to do yet!

I spent some birthday money on this back when it came out. Kinda moved on from it since then, but wanted to leave a positive review after seeing the amount of effort put into that new update. It's a super fun game and the map modding is gonna be nuts 🔥🔥🔥

If "Avengers End Game" got you thinking about ridiculously large pitched battles, there's here's this. You've probably seen lots of UEBS2 from content creators on social media. It is mainly fun as a sandbox game to simulate huge battles with hundreds and thousands of units. You can see if a platoon of army soldiers can fight off a horde of spartans, or something similarly ridiculous. On a fast computer system with a good amount of horsepower it won't even choke rendering it all (although if you zoom out they all look like ants fighting!) Sandbox mode is easy to set up with different units and how far they should be spread apart. During the battle there are a number of fun and easy controls. You can jump in mid-battle to control squads via a simple RTS system, or you can even go FPS mode by selecting one of the units to play! There is a campaign mode, as well as a FPS zombie survival mode. The latter is quite bare-bones, clunky, and repetitive. "Serious Sam" this isn't unfortunately. More work on this could have made it more fun, and also more customizable and enjoyable with different maps, multiple players, etc. UEBS2 is fairly easy to use and is endlessly replayable. There's also a mod scene. Hopefully we can see an UEBS3 which improves on the foundations of this one.
