This game is unlike anything I've ever played before. It can be both incredibly atmospheric and hilarious at the same time. Imagine charging down an 1862 cornfield with bayonets fixed while your NCO's are screaming at you to keep pressing forward, the guy next to you is blasting Free Bird by Lynyrd Skynyrd over his voice channel and then screaming profanities at your opponents while you engage them in melee combat. 10/10 would charge again.

Joined a game choose union side. first skirmish i was beaten to death while being called a N****R lover by 20 charging confederates. 10/10

- Load into first game - Spawn in the middle of a bayonet charge - I join in - Buck and ball deletes my lower abdomen - Testosterone-fueled middle aged man runs over my dead body screaming "YOU WILL NOT FUCK YOUR SISTER ANY LONGER" - Our entire team gets cut down by cannon and volley fire, smoke all over the battlefield 11/10

Please do not play this game if you dont like being told what to do, or doing the same thing over and over again. This is not COD, or Battlefield. You cannot run out alone and be a hero. Work with your team or leave. That being said, if you LIKE that sorta thing, and history, this is the game for you. From infantry to Artillery.

Just bought the game yesterday. I’m Ukrainian, and thought that the Southern mentality was a stereotype. Joined the CSA, and oh boy was I for a treat! Our Commanding Officer was impersonating Donald Trump, and I couldn’t hold myself from genuinely laughing my ass off. I can’t remember the last time I have actually laughed out from a video game. I lost it when he went (imagine best Donald Trump impression): “We’re going to form a firing line over there. And let me tell you, it will be the best firing line you will ever see” After we formed a line: “My God, this is the best firing line, probably in history. Believe me, nobody makes firing lines like I do. The enemy is so jealous of my Firing Line” This is the moment I realised that I will be playing more this game. And hopefully my CO will be Donald Trump. 10/10 for immersion
