"Is this game dead?" Great game with a dedicated player base. Since that seems to be the most asked question "Is this game dead?" No definitely not. The player base plays on one public server owned and played by players and it depends when the Americans get off of work and get home for those intense 275-400 pop rounds. That being said the EU timezone is not going to be as full compared to NA time. The server will be between 90-160 pop during the EU hours for most of the day till the Americans are getting on later in the day. Public servers and regimental events There is 2 sides of this community. You have the one main public server anyone can hop in and play at anytime. Then there is the regimental side of this game. You can find 100's of regiments and join a Union or a CSA one and they do events multiple times throughout the week for those high pop 275-400 games. Most of the regiments are fun and you can make lots of friends with them and overall get closer with the community over time if that's what you want to do. The regiment scene is another game of its own with its pluses and negatives though which aren't for everyone but it's really a personal opinion of everyone and you really just have to try it out and see if a regiment way of playing this game is for you or not. Join a regiment from the official War of Rights Discord or just play in pubs for 5 minutes and ask a player about his regiment tags he has on his name. If it's a cool sounding reg or a home state one you are from you want to be a part of don't be afraid to ask. People seriously love recruiting in this game and will be all over you if you ask about their regiment lol. (Yes you can play pubs and regimental play simultaneously) Gameplay This game is a milsim at the end of the day based in 1862 so yes you are going to have those long reloads for those rifles and muskets. You are not going to get a notification for killing an enemy. The game will punish you for running off from your company by being "out of line" and make your aim shakey, suppression, and dying out of line costs your team a lot of tickets which severely hurts and you want to avoid that at all costs. This is a teamwork based game it is not Call of Duty and requires listening to who ever is your officer and his orders along with the help from the NCO'S of the company. My personal favorite is the artillery of this game and how much fun it is. over 2500 hours just playing arty. The loading order of the cannons, the aiming, the numbers you can memorize and write down for certain spots you want to have dialed in for certain maps. The intensity of blasting cannister in a charging infantry company coming to kill you. It's all a blast and never gets old. The voice proximity chat really makes the game come to life without it we wouldn't have this game. Yes you'll have those hilarious moments quite often, make friends from regular players you see often in game, you'll randomly come across a player rambling about his life problems to another player somewhere in the woods in the heat of battle, an officer screaming in his parents home at the top of his lungs giving volley orders to his men with a pitbull barking in the background. It's all great. Overall opinion 3300+ hours for a reason. It keeps you playing because it's fun and there is not a single game like it. It is a very niche game and not all will find all of this enjoyable. If you are a history and gamer nerd like the rest of the community is that likes this stuff you'll love this game. Just buy it on sale. play a few rounds in the public server at NA high pop hours and see if it's for you before the refund timer goes out. See you on the battlefield and say howdy if you see me. -MK PoD admin and veteran player

- Load into first game - Spawn in the middle of a bayonet charge - I join in - Buck and ball deletes my lower abdomen - Testosterone-fueled middle aged man runs over my dead body screaming "YOU WILL NOT FUCK YOUR SISTER ANY LONGER" - Our entire team gets cut down by cannon and volley fire, smoke all over the battlefield 11/10

Please do not play this game if you dont like being told what to do, or doing the same thing over and over again. This is not COD, or Battlefield. You cannot run out alone and be a hero. Work with your team or leave. That being said, if you LIKE that sorta thing, and history, this is the game for you. From infantry to Artillery.
