This is a rough game to get into and certainly not everyone, but I enjoyed it. It reminded me somewhat of the first Dune game in that it tries to blend various different types of games together. The game doesn't excel in any of these areas, but the mechanics of the various mini-games bleed over and work together well enough. There's a lot of RNG in the game, which can be interpreted as intentional to show just how little life was worth and how fortunes changed rapidly during the French revolution, but it doesn't feel very satisfying, despite the acknowledgement. The lack of tooltips and explanation for most choices are pretty atrocious. :(

It's a very interesting game. After intially trying it and stumbling around unsure why I'm not getting into it, I put it aside for later for a long time. I tried to get into again several times, and failed. And this made me seriously think because I was fairly knowlegeable about the setting, and couldn't help but appreciate the wonderful visuals, and there didn't seem to be anything about it that rubbed me the wrong way ideologically. And what I realized was that I was having trouble with the game because it expected me to - and not terribly often - read through a short case file summary carefully. It wasn't the game, it was me. I was trying to play a rather excellent game of being a judge, one that even allows you to be a grossly corrupt and incompetent judge who doesn't even read the case files, and excell at it without, you know, reading a paragraph of text here and there. So, once I forced myself to do some very basic reading, the game gripped me and I ended up revisinting figures and events of the french revolution on the side, and thinking about life, the universe and what it all means more than I did in years. It's really a cool, worthwhile game and I hope the commendable effort and dedication that went into making it was worth it for the wonderful people who decided that this was what they wanted to do.

Highly recommended for people interested in French history and the politics during the time of the revolution and the social mobility outcome that comes with it.

This game is a solid 7 or 8/10. Good story, that's quasi historically accurate with game mechanics that intertwine with the story in a very interesting way. If you like 'papers please' then you'll surely like this. This would be a 9/10 if the story was able to keep itself interesting, but after a little bit more than the halfway point, it started to get a bit convoluted. I finished this game in 12 hours, but I think the game would have been better if it was a bit shorter. ---{ Graphics }--- ☐ You forget what reality is β˜‘ Beautiful ☐ Good ☐ Decent ☐ Bad ☐ Donβ€˜t look too long at it ☐ MS-DOS ---{ Gameplay }--- ☐ Very good β˜‘ Good ☐ It's just gameplay ☐ Mehh ☐ Watch paint dry instead ☐ Just don't ---{ Audio }--- ☐ Eargasm ☐ Very good β˜‘ Good ☐ Not too bad ☐ Bad ☐ I'm now deaf ---{ Audience }--- ☐ Kids β˜‘ Teens β˜‘ Adults ☐ Grandma ---{ PC Requirements }--- β˜‘ Check if you can run paint ☐ Potato ☐ Decent ☐ Fast ☐ Rich boi ☐ Ask NASA if they have a spare computer ---{ Game Size }--- ☐ Floppy Disk β˜‘ Old Fashioned ☐ Workable ☐ Big ☐ Will eat 10% of your 1TB hard drive ☐ You will want an entire hard drive to hold it ☐ You will need to invest in a black hole to hold all the data ---{ Difficulty }--- ☐ Just press 'W' ☐ Easy ☐ Easy to learn / Hard to master β˜‘ Significant brain usage ☐ Difficult ☐ Dark Souls ---{ Grind }--- β˜‘ Nothing to grind ☐ Only if u care about leaderboards/ranks ☐ Isn't necessary to progress ☐ Average grind level ☐ Too much grind ☐ You'll need a second life for grinding ---{ Story }--- ☐ No Story ☐ Some lore ☐ Average β˜‘ Good ☐ Lovely ☐ It'll replace your life ---{ Game Time }--- ☐ Long enough for a cup of coffee β˜‘ Short ☐ Average ☐ Long ☐ To infinity and beyond ---{ Price }--- ☐ It's free! β˜‘ Worth the price ☐ If it's on sale ☐ If u have some spare money left ☐ Not recommended ☐ You could also just burn your money ---{ Bugs }--- β˜‘ Never heard of ☐ Minor bugs ☐ Can get annoying ☐ ARK: Survival Evolved ☐ The game itself is a big terrarium for bugs ---{ ? / 10 }--- ☐ 1 ☐ 2 ☐ 3 ☐ 4 ☐ 5 ☐ 6 ☐ 7 β˜‘ 8 ☐ 9 ☐ 10
