This is a really hard game to evaluate. One one side the on-rail shooter part is really fun and addictive: with tight controls, excellent art direction, an interesting level design, and an enjoyable sound track. On the other hand the rogue-lite part is really undercooked: with really unbalanced options and weapons, useless bonuses that override all the upgrades acquired till that moment, a damage output that is all over the place (weapons deal too little damage in the beginning, making the first couple of stages a real struggle) and a progression that is too much random. Some levels are full of enemies while others are basically empty, and which one you will get only depends on luck. In the end I would suggest this game only to lovers of the genre, and only if you can get it on a good discount.

Fun game! And good looking. Although a bit short. I am an avid Star Fox connoisseur, so I feel comfortable saying it's a good homage but also it's own new thing. The story is a tiny bit underwhelming and leaving you on your hunger, but the gameplay is fun enough to compensate. There is however some clunkiness to it when playing on harder difficulties (E.g.: Some seeds being impossible to overcome (especially in the challenge mode). Or taking unavoidable damage during a cutscene). Voice acting and dialogues are fun and witty, but can quickly become repetitive given how many runs you can go through in a single play-session). The challenge mode should be revised entirely- whether you succeed or fail a challenge is entirely up to luck, and that becomes not fun at all on the hardest missions.

This is a really fun on rails shooter, with roguelike elements. The voice acting is good, the music is good, and the atmosphere feels good. The controls feel good and just playing this game is fun.

It's basically Star Fox 64, but a roguelite and a focus on combos and energy management rather than just shooting everything (though you still shoot like 90% of the time) - it's an excellent way to revisit nostalgic gameplay. Satisfying and fun. That said, it's content-complete so don't buy it expecting new DLC or addons; unless there's some massive influx of players it simply didn't sell enough to pay to maintain the employees. It's a shame because the game *is* quite enjoyable.

As someone who really likes the old starfox/lylat wars games i enjoyed this game as well. However it feels like it could be better. It's subpar compared to those games and you cannot really compare it to starfox since this is more roguelike. I'm bothered that the developer removed the tilt function in the game and the enviroments are a little lackluster with only 3 acts and i wish there was more enemy variety. Anyways space cats are neat. Buy on sale!
