"A bit rushed out the door". Transport and logistics games, on the surface, seem fairly straightforward and simple. Bring x from point A to point B, repeat. Fans of the genre know, however, know a lot more is going on under the hood. Worldwide Rush offers a great example of that hidden complexity - a fairly approachable game with more going on that initially presents. Upon starting up, you'll be asked to localize your settings: measurements, currency, and language. The developers clearly want to on-board as many players as possible. Continuing on, you'll see a very basic, easy to understand start menu, all in a good effort to get you into the action as quickly as possible. Starting a new game will offer a number of world options varying up your company profile, competition, unlockables, and more - all of which do a good job telegraphing their effects on the game. A quick load screen later, and you're presented with the world map. A basic tutorial will guide you through setting up your first hub and route, and dynamic tasks based on the strength of your network will be provided each cycle. Worldwide Rush's greatest strength is how accessible it tries to make itself to new players.. So a nice low floor, but how high is the ceiling. A couple progression paths, from unlocking new vehicles, to leveling up destinations, to eliminating competition, all happen based on the strength of your overall network. You'll often clear certain milestones without really intending to, which can lead to a plateau effect in more seasoned players of logistics games. However, when it comes to this genre, developers best not miss when they swing at the king. Players tend to be fiercely loyal to their transport game of choice like OpenTDD or Transport Fever. Players are familiar with the inner workings of their systems and quirks, and a game looking to be someone's new mainstay needs to offer enough to make players want to switch over. Worldwide Rush, at launch, is lacking some of the features of those other games, which it readily admits on the start menu. Planned features such as multiplayer, cargo transportation (currently, only passenger transportation is available, and modding tools help show developers are aware of their shortcomings, but launching without these features in place may not be enough to persuade some players. Prospective buyers are encouraged to look through the game's major update notes to see if the features they most enjoy have been implemented or not. Overall, Worldwide Rush may be a little undercooked, but the parts that are there are still well done. The game's foundations are solid, and players new to the genre may find this to be an approachable way to explore to nerdy world of transport network optimizations. Experienced players will find an initially strong experience, but may find the lack of additional features not enough to maintain their attention.

It's pretty good and casual, Its a good base for a game and the price point is fair, I've just beat my first campaign by buying out all the other companies and it is pretty straight forward. I feel like when you have built out your infastructure and catered to the major cities there is not much else to do other than wait to buy everyone out. It would be very interesting for this to get Multiplayer and Cargo carrying abilities in the game as I know these are on the to do list as listed in the feedback section on the game. I think if you could specialise into other avenues like cargo carrying and supplying good could add some diversity rather than always competing for passengers. Multiplayer would add some competative nature to the game also as it would be fun to scale with friends. I'd recommend it and hope it doesn't go into the abandonware section in the future.

So far I started in the middle of nowhere it has a bit of a learning curve, but in general the player can make more optimized distance routes than the AI, but be careful of going over water as bridges drastically increase cost. So yeah Trains, Roads, Planes so far havent built roads but seems good. Max Loan amount does seem broke at this time once it goes past 10 million.

OK. I have watched just about every video on YouTube, over the last week or two. I feel that I have an excellent handle on the games' systems, and mechanics. First, it runs perfectly on my computer..an I-7, with a very good (3070) graphics card, and 32 gb ram. No stutters. Also, note that I have it installed on my SSD, to help with late game issues as the file sizes get immense. I am in the first sandbox scenario, where I need to unlock a new country every 30 minutes or so. The game gave me the Netherlands, so Luxembourg and Denmark are cheap, and within easy reach. Expansions cost more, the larger the country. I have played about three months, and have two trains, four airplanes, and about 15 busses. Total number of cities is about a dozen or so. The game does a good job of managing your routes, and your cities. It tells you when they're overloaded, and when you need to take actions. At the slowest speed, the game is quite manageable. Next, importantly, is that you can pause the game and take actions. Many games require the clock to be running to take actions, and this one does not. This is HUGE. You can sit and contemplate your actions, without the stress of also managing your empire in real time. At the end of each month, and based on how well you have satisfied each city's passengers (fulfillment), they have a chance to level up. This essentially makes them larger, and generates additional passenger from that location. This is the key, I think. Stop what you're doing when you get notification that your cities have grown, and critically evaluate whether your level of support is sufficient to handle the additional passenger loads. This is how you can be pro-active. All of this is in one of the three gameplay modes, and the only one I have attempted to this point. The other, main mode is a fully competitive mode with a hundred or more AI. I saw one YouTube video where, after just three years of gameplay, one human player was purchasing a smaller company every three or four days. When your empire starts to snowball, you will have the ability to purchase a huge new train every day. Frankly, the level of growth is not linear at all, it is geometric. This geometric growth, in the one gameplay I watched, overwhelmed the human player, playing at medium speed. Even crazier is that there were several other AI's that had BILLIONS of, in this case, Euro's, and this left the player rapidly falling behind. Upgrading vehicles, trains, and planes is slow and tedious. IF you just purchased (bought out) a medium sized company, to go through and optimize every route would take a very long time. IF you successfully optimize your routes, then your growth would be even MORE geometric. If you increase the difficulty settings, this will slow you down..but likely would speed UP the AI, and making your loss even more likely. If you slow the game down, you MIGHT be able to keep up with the AI, but you will be swimming in money. I read the term "snowball effect" on the forum, and this is as good a description as any. If you are like me, then starting a company and working out the strategies and implementing them for success is what works best for me. I am not sure that I WANT to optimize my 167th and 168th bus route, with the expectation of purchasing another ten tomorrow. Still..the game runs good, and a complex transport game DOES check all my boxes. I have been paying transport games since the original Sid Meier's Railroad Tycoon...a period of 35+ years. This one APPEARS as good as any of them, as far as the options and strategies needed. I haven't touched on the city upgrades, the hiring of hub managers, and several other layers of complexity. They're there, and I look forward to diving into them. All in all, a great game, and one I highly recommend. I only have just two hours in...but watch over time as my hours grow. That will be my true review. I have HUNDREDS of games, and am a fully retired old man, and game a LOT. If I choose to play this game, then that's pretty good, amiright?

This feels like Early Access, but there's enough promise and a reasonable game price that warrants recommending. The lack of passenger logic is REALLY frustrating - a northbound passenger will take a southbound train, clogging up the train capacity and extending their travel time vs just waiting for the train to come back northbound I'd really like to see some further development - like please allow me to do upgrades to vehicles from a menu vs clicking through so many boxes. Larger buttons to open up a route view, vehicles view, filter buttons embedded in the top so I can quickly narrow down to the route I'm focused on. The UI really limits how large you can expand before it gets way too overwhelming
