While I still recommend checking out this game in the library of Emika games, this has been my least favourite of the collection. The play style made it a little harder to focus/follow what the story in the game really was, and the story just didn't feel as polished or solid as a lot of his other games. It's still worth checking out though!

Its not the best game its just ok The bit that really wound me up was that once the monster chases me I cannot outrun it.

You Must isn't a must play, but an okay entry to the horror genre for newcomers I've had this game in my backlog for a while now. I always thought it was an EMIKA game, but I've seen people saying that Thin Line is a whole different developer entirely. Regardless, it kinda feels like an EMIKA product, but that isn't entirely a good thing. This game shows what modern indie horror is all about. Mindless walking around and backtracking, obtuse puzzles that don't entirely make a lot of sense, nor have guidance and the obligatory poor translation. This title feels like a mix between Summer of '58 and ASK_GAMES' Beside Yourself , that being an okay horror title and a purely abysmal one. The sound design is fine, the egregiously loud jump-scares are here, but the tension is non existent. Despite having a threat who regularly patrols the outside of the complex you'll be exploring, there was nothing in this game that stuck out to me as "scary." The monster in question walks slowly until he sees you but it's so easy to stay out of his cone of vision that the "stealth" sections outside were a cakewalk. His pathfinding is atrocious also, you'll see him getting snagged on a single can on the ground and it'll completely throw him into whack. I never got attacked once, at least until I deliberately went face to face with him to see what would happen. I've played a lot of horror games before so maybe I'm desensitised, as I've seen other creators get terrified while playing this. The story is hard to figure out due to poor translation, (something that can't really be remedied), which unfortunately, can make figuring out puzzles a little difficult. Speaking of puzzles, you do get a hint that pops up on the bottom of the screen, but it's gone before a lot of people can even read what it says. This lends itself to a lot of wandering around until you accidentally find where you're meant to go/what to do. I don't find this enjoyable and I know it's not a me problem, as I watched other people play the game after I beat it. Most people I've noticed, have struggled to figure out what they're meant to do next. The lighter fluid mechanics are here, even though they absolutely don't need to be. I picked up around 6 lighter fluid canisters and never needed to use them once since you start the game with enough fluid to burn down the oval office. Also, when I tried to refill my lighter for the hell of it, the game just wouldn't let me. The painkillers are here too, but actually have some sort of purpose due to the mouth-breathing Discord mod wandering around outside. Again, though, with how easy he is to ignore and evade, these pills became a non item that I never used once. The game ran fine, no stuttering, though reloading saves can lead to some funny texture issues that may take longer than expected if playing on mediocre hardware. There isn't much to You Must . It's a pretty standard key hunting adventure that has a padded length due to how confusing it is. if you're looking at this game as an experienced horror gamer, I'd ignore it completely. HOWEVER If you're new to the genre and you're eyeing this game up, I'd say pick it up! It's cheap as hell, ($3.00), and it'll introduce you to almost every staple of indie horror. You can safely play this and be prepared for most other mediocre titles that get released nowadays. You Must gets a pretty flat 5.7/10 Check out [url=https://store.steampowered.com/curator/44654461-Toasty-Reviews/]My Curator Page for more!

Good game and an interesting sequel to Summer of 58 I guess. At least I'd say that it's taking place in the same universe if not being a direct sequel. Either way, it's another great game from Emika. I really enjoy these.
