8/10 A really fun and relaxing game about chopping trees and upgrading along the way, albeit a bit short. In this game, you do exactly what the name suggests and chop trees, then bring them to the sawmill to earn money, which is then used for upgrades or to recharge stamina. The game is split into 3 different forests, each with different trees, and the upgrades obtained along the way make a lot of difference, going from more axe damage and more stamina to allowing trees to fall on each other and cause a chain of falling trees. The graphics are really well done and the game's music is also very relaxing, making for a great way to relax for a few hours. There is also a boombox that can be found to play some non-relaxing music. I didn't have any technical issues with the game, only for some very brief framerate drops (nothing major - from 60 to 40 and only very briefly) and getting very briefly stuck on a tree stump or on a ledge, but those were rare and I was able to jump my way out. The only issue I have with the game is that it is way too short. You can finish the game in 2-3 hours. There is a NG+ mode that comes after that, but it's just the same game carrying over your upgrades and anything else you unlocked (like repaired bridges). The only other thing to do is to find the raccoon statuettes for an achievement. There is also multiplayer in the game for 2 players, apparently, although I haven't tried it yet. Although it's short, I had a great time with it and I hope to see future updates including more. It's also not an expensive game, so it's an easy recommendation.

Fun game. Chased after my cart many times. Peaceful. Do wish there was more biomes/upgrades, but still very relaxing. Tree felling OP, love it. Scratched my itch. Hard to find raccoons, very hard.

So, its Sons of the Forest without base building or cannibals trying to kill you every couple of minutes. Honestly, I sat down and chopped down trees for 2 hours last night and will probably do the same tonight.
