This game is alright. I don't think it's one of the better nodebuster clones, but it's decent enough. They tried to make the game a fair bit more of a challenge than most of these games. It's not enough to be considered hard, but it does make it take more effort to complete (and my wrist kind of hurts from dodging stuff). It's up to you to decide if that type of stuff makes the game better or worse. I thought the green enemies were frustrating. They attack very quickly and the cooldown on their attack is low so they spam lunges at you when you're close. If you don't have enough damage to wipe them out instantly, I found them to be obnoxious. The worst part about them is that when they hit you, they disappear and you don't get any drops. You need a lot of green material, so it could make it pretty annoying to get enough, but the problem wasn't that bad. This is a very powerup focused game. You find plenty of them, but it leads to a feast or famine style of damage output. Often times, you either have powerups and can wipe all of the enemies easily, or you have trouble taking out any enemies to make them drop powerups in the first place. The various upgrades you get are hit or miss. I don't think the game struggles from having too little impact on the upgrades, but some of them just don't feel that impactful. The laser beam has 4 boss upgrades associated with it, including the final one that makes it shoot beams all around you, and you get a lot of upgrades to increase its damage... but its damage never feels particularly good, even with the maxed upgrades in the end. There's plenty of points in this game where you feel very strong and it feels great to fight enemies, but oddly enough, the end of the game isn't one of those times. You aren't that strong at the end, even with maxed out upgrades. Sure, you can beat the boss, but you just aren't clearing enemies that quickly. Makes it feel like kind of a limping ending.

Antivirus PROTOCOL is awesome mini incremental game that has landed itself a spot on my Top 5 of the genre! It's one of the most balanced games in the genre, uses quality over quantity in the skill tree, and has enemy synergies that are really well made and don't feel forced, compared to ones in similar games. An absolute "must buy" if you like mini incremental games! I would insta-buy a Antivirus PROTOCOL 2!

Fun little idler in the vein of nodebuster. if you liked that you'll like this. They did add a "story" and lore to it, told throughout the game which was fun. At 8 hours I got all achievements unlocked so not one of the 200 hour idlers which I prefer this to that.

Great game! Short and sweet incremental game, I like the power ups and change of not needing to dodge everything. Look forward to more!
