Pretty fun survivor rogue-lite. Good stream of upgrades and unlocks. Decent little soundtrack too. My gripes are to do with the late game (where I'm likely stopping). Most of my playtime has been a joy. Late game the challenges aren't very interesting, 'stand still for x amount' on every level which amounts to doing this at least 15 times. I could seeing this being a fun novelty on one or two stages, but 15 times is just excessively repetitive for an achievement that is very passive and dull. Something like Halls of Torment did a great job with its achievements, many of them interesting and unique. Also, some levels in this game go for 30+ minutes, and that's okay once in a while but these runs feel like they're over after about the 15 minute mark for me and then it's just a bore waiting out the clock. I feel the game is at its best in the 20 minute stages. Anyway, this is a high quality survivor rogue-lite and despite the late game progression feeling like too much of a chore, it ranks among the best I've played. ===================== My Survivor Rogue-lite Tier List ===================== -Not an objective list, purely how much I enjoyed the games- Loved it: Halls of Torment | Gunlocked | Great: Heretic’s Fork | Slime 3K | Army of Ruin | Good: Rogue: Genesia | Okay: Twilight Survivors | Void Scrappers | 20 Minutes till Dawn | Glory & Miserable Survivors DX | Keeper’s Toll | Nomad Survival | Vampire Survivors | Brotato | Elewar: Fused Survivors | Elewar: Fused Survivors | Very “meh”: Beat Invaders | Genome Guardian | God of Weapons | Time Wasters | Boneraiser Minions | Archons | Goobies | X Invader | Cast Out Colony | Starship Scramble | Bounty of One | Holocure - Save the fans! | Cozy Space Survivors | Disfigure | SurvivalScape | Bio Prototype | Awful or Overly basic: Level Tank | ==========================

One of the better survivors like bullet hell games. Lots to unlock, good difficulty scaling and interesting unlocks.

I saw a lot of comments/posts/reviews that are negative and I'm here to say thanks dev for a great game and I'mma tell you why I think so. But first, going back to the negatives. Mainly the negatives are either newbie finding this too newbie un-friendly or comparison between this and other games in the same genre e.g. Vampire Survivors etc. From my experience, this game rely heavily in 2 aspects which is meta progression and unlockables. Which is great because thats what you should be doing in games like these. Sometimes it feels like you're not really progressing even after spending quite an amount in meta progression but maybe its more so you're not focusing on the right thing. Maybe you're too focus i.e. tunnel vision on something when you should spread out and get as much as possible. Luck for example, is great but you dont know how good it'll be until you actually put points into it. Some weapons only works a certain way which is not a new thing but maybe for some people who have never come across these type of mechanic, they might think its a bug. Elven Bow for example, has one the highest DPS but it only shoots to the right. This game is grindy, but in a good way IMO. You dont necessarily need to grind to 100% complete the game. Just continue unlocking stuff (maps, heroes, weapons, trinkets, charms etc) and doing challenges and you'll get there. I hunt towards unlocking Midas early on and that helps a lot but never did a single midas farm run. Normally when I 100% complete a game thats it for me. Uninstall and move on to the next one. But on rare occasion, some games will come out with great replayability e.g. Slay the Spire, Vampire Survivors, BTD6 etc and I think this game is one of them. You can come up with self impose challenges and see how it goes. There are a lot more that I could mention but nobody cares anyway so tl:dr, It;s a great game! Just keep at it and if it doesnt work, tweaks and try a different approach. You'll get there eventually.

If you want a competent VS-like with lots of unlocks to grind, this is worth your money. If you're looking for something new, this ain't it. The game plays like many others. Controls are down to a joystick and an action button. While some characters get movement and defensive special abilities, there is no dash or dodge. You move around screen while all of the mobs slowly trudge toward you. Some mobs have projectiles and other tricks up their sleeves, but most are generic creeps (love the archers who chase you around oh so slowly while so they can... pinch you? Whack your shins with their unstrung bows?). The art style is fine, but overly familiar and while the assets look much more cohesive than many others, it still feels really generic. There are a bunch of characters, though, even if several are reskins, and tons of weapons and trinkets to unlock through playing the game. I'm 25 hours in and haven't been focusing on unlocks exclusively, but I've still only unlocked about a third of the equipment and characters. So far, I've only encountered standard difficulty modifiers and endless mode, so you'll mostly just be playing the same handful of maps in the same game mode over and over again. There are game speed unlocks that are very welcome. So, good, not great, pretty bland, but it plays well and lots to keep coming back for, even if without much variety in the levels.

Probably the best bullet heaven/hell game on Steam, outside of the obvious VS. Lots of weapons and upgrades, lots of characters. It's just fun, simple as that.
