The best game in the mysterious trilogy to me. It goes back to the structure sophie had, which is a great welcome for me. I love both protagonists and the characters they introduce. And the most important: Combat is finally good again, a first for the trilogy. Certainly worth playing if you are an atelier fan or a mysterious fan. The dlc that is packaged in this DX deal is also suprisingly great and made me interested in other gust properties which frankly look bad from trailers and reviews. A great advertisement.

Best one of the trilogy imo. Unlike it's predecessor, this one checks pretty much all the boxes as to why I generally find Atelier games fun. No gigantic open world makes it less overwhelming yet plenty of places to explore and discover in the form of new areas and paintings. It was very fun. The alchemy was also the most enjoyable and understandable out of the 3 for me. Also for those trying to get the true ending: You do not need to do everything in the ambitions journal.

Another solid game in the Atelier series, as I'm playing the Mysterious subseries out of order, this is the first in this that I've played. Solid story, exploring the different painting was pretty fun to do. Alchemy of course, is one (if not THE) component of these games that separates them from other JRPGs, and is naturally very complex and requires heavy research to really understand. Combat is pretty tough, but like other Atelier games you can get gear/concoctions that simplifies these fights.

If you go in with a good guide, and follow it meticulously, and kill and gather everything in sight you'll be fine. Lots of great stuff to see, if a bit frustrating at times to get at. ...If you don't do those things, you'll waste forty hours. This game has a 'true' ending, and it's easily and permanently missable from the very early stages of the game (something no Atelier game has done since, thankfully!). Ask me how I know. I suppose that since I blazed through a NG+ immediately after screwing up my first run, that I actually did like the game. Or I wasn't paying attention the first time.

This is one of my greatest atelier series (if not count mana khemia). System design, concept , design, gameplay ...all well balance. Song and sound track is also very good. It very very fun to play.
