Hot take incoming, this game has my favourite story in the series thus far, granted this may be due to my bias of early year Batman stories but I love character driven plots and more than the others so far, this one really gives Batman time to shine and grow in this game. Granted this game is very unpolished, I didn't have most of the issues that a lot of people had with the PC port of this game but I was playing with the Community Patch so that's likely why. The game was really fun, had some fun side missions even if a fair lot of them were just copy-pasted from City (as well as a lot of this game) they were great and housed some really good boss fights. Speaking of, yeah the boss fights in this game are absolutely the best in the series so far, these characters got so much love in this game, Deathstroke was such a great first impression on how the bosses would be in this game (not counting Killer Croc as the first boss but he was pretty good for the tutorial). The open world though I probably the least memorable so far due to this game fully taking place in Winter (literally Christmas Eve) and the top half of the map literally being Arkham City's map but covered in snow and not partially submerged. The voice acting of this game is stellar, special Highlights to Batman (Roger Craig Smith), Joker (Troy Baker) and Alfred (Martin Javis) especially with the former two replacing Kevin Conroy as Batman and Mark Hamill as Joker in order to portray younger versions of these characters and they, as mentioned before, killed it in their roles, they need to be cast as those characters more often. Highly recommended but get the Community Patch for it.
Batman: Arkham Origins is the black sheep of the Arkham trilogy — but unfairly so. While it lacks the innovation of Arkham Asylum and the polish of Arkham City, it delivers a surprisingly rich, grounded, and emotionally compelling origin story for the Dark Knight. his game takes place on Christmas Eve, with a younger, angrier Bruce Wayne just two years into his crusade. Gotham is cold, quiet, and full of criminals — and eight deadly assassins have been sent to kill Batman for a $50 million bounty. The setup is simple, but it works. The writing has weight, and the performances — especially Troy Baker as a younger, more psychotic Joker — are top-tier. Combat remains tight and satisfying, following the tried-and-true freeflow system. While not as smooth as in City, it's still incredibly fun. Stealth (predator) sections are just as rewarding. The game also introduces a few new gadgets like the Shock Gloves — maybe a bit OP, but fun nonetheless. The open world is larger than in Arkham City, though sometimes it feels emptier. Still, snowy Gotham is atmospheric, with holiday lights and a heavy, noir vibe. The city feels alive with crime, and the soundtrack adds a haunting, lonely tone that matches Batman’s early struggles. Where Origins really shines is its story. It's not about saving the world — it's about Batman figuring out who he is. His dynamic with Alfred is powerful, and his first encounters with key villains like Joker, Bane, and Deathstroke add real depth. The boss fights are some of the best in the series, especially the one with Deathstroke — fast, intense, and cinematic. Side content is a bit of a mixed bag. There are some fun detective cases and Most Wanted missions, but collectibles (like Enigma datapacks) feel tedious after a while. There’s less polish and variety than in City, but still plenty to do. Arkham Origins is not just a “filler” game — it’s a worthy, character-driven Batman story with great gameplay and atmosphere. If you can look past a few rough edges, you'll find a powerful and underrated entry in the Arkham saga. Batman: Arkham Origins — несправядліва забытая частка серыі Arkham.
