In a sentence, Bear's Restaurant is bittersweet narrative about living (or dying) with grief. The game play itself is reminiscent of a point and click adventure game, but the star of the show is the plot. At first I thought it was sweet in the cheesy sort of way, but there are punches that I never expected. Absolutely give Bear's Restaurant a chance if you like narrative games.

i absolutely love everything from Odencat. Meg's Monster has skyrocketed to my top 10 list, Snowman Story is just beautiful, and this game, while i'm still not done yet, just absolutely nails what i've been looking for in games the last few years. i cannot wait to see what they do next and i'll update this review once i finish the game

An amazing story based game full of simple but interesting characters. The story's unique take on the afterlife gave me a fresh view on how I want to live my own life. The game play itself is bare bones, but it's because all the focus is on the story itself. Deep messages are sprinkled everywhere provoking so much thought about the harder to think about things in life. And the overall message about enjoying life while you can is beautiful, a must play if you're looking for a chill emotional experience with a heavy emphasis on story.

This game was made with so much heart :) It's a little reminiscent of Undertale, but there's no combat which means it's a much cozier and relaxed game. It was also surprisingly much longer than I anticipated! (Important to note that about half of my play time was idling, however.) If you've been sleeping on this game, I'd highly recommend trying it out <3
