Although it has been a bit since I've played it, I think about it every so often. I think it's a solid 6.5/10. There is not a lot in this game I was blown away by. I think the battling is serviceable and the story is fine, but the visuals were really the shining part of this game. Very pretty world. I do think that both crafting and farming were essentially shoehorned into this game and do not serve a purpose unique enough to warrant them existing. They could have been removed and I think my enjoyment of this game would have gone up. I think this is a game I would describe as just above the threshold of "good enough to not regret."

The only issue i really have with this game is the writing/dialogue. It all just seemed very generic and not very personable. I always found myself skimming through conversations and only noting important details. The music is okay at best, some of them caught me off guard since it didn't really fit certain contexts. That being said, credits music was great. I was also kinda sad i couldnt talk to bestie Ramona during the fair ;-; again.. lack of open dialogue with the npc's aside from when i "hang out" with them.

⭐️ 7/10 ⭐️ Overall I'm recommending this game echoing the plethora of complaints about the writing. The game is just too visually gorgeous and sonically great to call it bad, though. Some more care for the writing would've made it an immediate recommend. If you're a fan of the Persona/SMT games, you'll find something in this to enjoy. Pros ✧ The pixel art is so well done I was super impressed by the sheer AMOUNT of detail in every scene, it definitely hits the mark in creating fresh take on a very dense market for pixel games. ✧ The original soundtrack! I was shocked to hear not just one song for battles WITH lyrics, it's creative decisions like this that make me thrilled to play a game like this. They were also catchy! ✧ The enemy designs and the amount of them, I was happy to not see many of the same ones over and over as well as introduced to new ones as the game progressed. ✧ The lack of hand holding! I personally find this to be a pro, I enjoyed figuring out certain mechanics or places to visit without being explicitly told. Cons ✧ I won't beat a dead horse: the writing is just not good. Nothing the younger characters say feels... right or something kids their age would be saying? It's hard to explain until you play for an hour or two and realize the dialogue just doesn't feel natural. ✧ I think this game desperately needs a quality of life update for things like gardening and monster combining. Having to plant seeds and water everything one by one got incredibly tiring and I abandoned the mechanic after awhile. The demon companion leveling also felt like an after thought. ✧ Unlike Persona sleeping doesn't really have a consequence which puts less pressure on the player but it felt weird to not have a downside to ending a day. ✧ I may have missed the quest for it but: why was there a bike teasing me for faster travel outside the house?! Let Emily ride it 😭

Perfect comnination of cozy and action. It reminds me of a mix between Stranger Things, Stardew Valley and Persona. Play it.

This is a SUPER well-made, solid game. Someone basically sat down, said "I want more games like Persona 5", and then put in the effort into actually doing that, which is VERY commendable. That's a lot of effort and hard work into making what you said you wanted more of, instead of simply complaining that there just isn't anything else. Everything is incredibly smooth. Animations are well-done and smooth, the music is exactly what you'd expect out of a game that's basically Persona 5, and the graphics are beautiful. If you're put off by pixel art, I seriously, SERIOUSLY recommend you get over it, because you're locking yourself out of some SERIOUSLY good games. If you've got a hankering for more Persona games with that style of storytelling, then this is exactly what you're looking for. I'm only about 3 hours in, but I feel like this is enough to kind of give folks exactly what they're looking for. I can already tell the game's going to open up with tons of things to do inbetween solving Bloomtown mysteries and disappearances. I think it'll be a good time. Heads up, for those who care, because I don't judge: You make a contract with a demon called Lucifer in the beginning. It's meant to parallel the contracts you make in Persona, but it is with Lucifer. I don't know how that'll play out yet, but that's a thing.
