We play as Olle, a young boy who sets out into a sinister world inspired by Nordic Folklore to rescue his sister, Lillemor, after she mysteriously disappears. The journey unfolds across beautifully disturbing landscapes, from misty forests to eerie swamps and caves, filled with strange creatures, mythological beasts, and nightmarish bosses rooted in Scandinavian legends. The gameplay blends platforming, puzzles, stealth, and occasional action, with Olle mostly walking, running, jumping, hiding, or solving environmental challenges. The game emphasizes atmosphere and narrative over deep combat, with storytelling often delivered through collectibles and a narrator that evokes the feel of a twisted fairy tale which made me love the experience. For an Indie Game the development was well performed and didn't find any issue that could point as negative.
This game has been in my library for some time, but I finally got around to playing it. The story is very good. I died countless times, but the game is very forgiving even in boss fights. There is an achievement for a "No Death" run. I won't be attempting that, lol. This boss fights are challenging. For the price of entry, I am very satisfied with what I received in playing this game. Grab this game on sale when you have an opportunity. I'll be looking for future releases from Dimfrost Studio. Well done.
