I have played all of Emika_Games releases and this was probably my favorite. The game can be completed in a half hour but I played through it a couple times to get all the achievements which took me about 75-80 minutes total. Visually the game looks really good and I am a sucker for christmas decorations so that was the icing on the cake for me! I played on cinematic graphics and it ran well. The audio was good although I turned the narrator down to 1% because it wasn't in English and it just was a distraction for me. The game audio helped keep the mood tense and suspenseful. The gameplay wasn't bad. You walked real slow just like almost every indie horror game so i wasn't surprised by that. The controls where basic and simple. The story line didn't suck me in but I was able to follow along and understand it. The game had a good amount of jump scares and they where not all predictable. Many times you have to walk back and forth to trigger the next sequence in the game and sometimes in doing so things would be different and scare me. All in all I give this game a 4.5/5 stars for what it is. Its a $5 USD game that on sale can be bought for half price. Its getting hard to find games that are this enjoyable to play for that price which is why I rate it high. For what your paying its a good game.

Yes it is VERY short. Yes, i think the 5€ are too much for it, but I already have all Emika-Games and got the "bundle" so I paid less. It's still fun. It's still has good placed jumpscares and it still has a creepy atmosphere, so i will still give it a thumps up, because we had fun.

Another fun game from EMIKA! Some great jumpscares and atmosphere like you'd expect from this dev. Simple gameplay as always, being a walking sim, you just do a few tasks and a puzzle and let the game scare the sh*t outta you :D Around 30mins of gameplay, so not their longest game, but still enough to be an enjoyable bite-sized scary game. Bonus points for adding a pettable cat

I just finished Callus, and as a longtime fan of EMIKA Games, I have pretty mixed feelings about this one. On the positive side, the jump scares were genuinely effective. There were several moments that caught me off guard, and the overall gameplay felt solid and polished. From a mechanical standpoint, the game works well and does what it sets out to do in terms of tension and pacing. That said, I struggled with the story. I was not entirely sure what was happening for a good portion of the experience, and it did not land emotionally for me the way previous titles have. Coming from Pieces of Me, which really set a strong bar for storytelling and impact, this one felt like a noticeable step down in that department. I was also a bit disappointed by the length. My total playtime was around 23 minutes, which made the experience feel very brief, especially given the themes it was trying to explore. Knowing this is being presented as the developer’s last official game makes that even more bittersweet. I did encounter one small bug where my lighter would activate but no flame would appear. It did not break the game, but it was noticeable. Overall, Callus feels like a game that was rushed to completion rather than one that fully realized its potential. I am a huge fan of this developer and truly hate to see this possibly be the end. I hope this is not goodbye, because when EMIKA Games is at their best, they create some incredibly memorable horror experiences.
