Mixed reaction ... For those that really dislike platform games (that's me !) this was a non-issue as it was all so easy to do. I used keyboard & mouse which was ok as only a few keys are required for action and control. The graphics are well done and with the sound effects, it's creepy. The puzzles are generally not hard to solve although a few are not intuitive with some guessing required. I finished the game in about 4 hours but leaving it running for the trading cards that are slow to drop. Looking forward to playing CT2 now.

Creepy Tale is a puzzle platformer where you play as a boy who has to traverse a forest full of strange puzzles and creepy monsters to save his brother. The gameplay is all puzzles of various types. The stealth/platforming puzzles are mostly not too difficult, although they require a bit of trial-and-error. When you die, the game usually starts you over fairly close to where you died, although there are a couple of places where messing up means having to redo long sequences of actions. It isn't always easy to figure out which items in the environment are able to be picked up (there is a "tips" setting that shows you when you walk by a hotspot), but once you pick them up it usually isn't hard to figure out what to do with them. There were a few puzzles where you have to use trial-and-error to figure out what order to click the pieces in. I don't normally dislike this kind of puzzle, but one of these had a large number of steps, and by the third instance it was feeling a bit repetitive. The art is hand-drawn and looks like it could be illustrations in the world's creepiest picture book. There isn't any dialogue or narration, but the music and sound effects help bring the world to life and enhance the creepy atmosphere. The story is pretty simple, and while I generally prefer this kind of game to have a more compelling story, I did think it worked for something that feels like a folktale. There were a few things that really worked for me here and a few of things that didn't. I liked the art style and the atmosphere. When the puzzles weren't frustrating, they were tricky but fair. However, there were a few that were frustrating and repetitive, and I think I would have been more drawn in by a stronger story and characters. Overall, I give Creepy Tale a 7/10.

I saw this game on the next Kuplinov.Play stream and as a fan of dark platformers, I couldn't pass by. I'm writing a review after I've already completed CT2 and CT3, so it's absolutely clear that I've become an absolute fan of this series. The game has a rather pleasantly dark atmosphere, a simple plot, but it's quite dynamic and can be completed in a couple of hours. The gameplay is laconic. Good soundtrack, which contributes to a deeper immersion and sets the mood. The puzzles aren't difficult, although sometimes you still have to think - in the subsequent parts there are much more difficult puzzles, but once you get used to the style and logic of the series, they are also solved without any problems. I didn't encounter any lags or bugs during the gameplay. You can complete the entire plot and get all the achievements, as I said above, in a few hours. A nice game for the evening. 8/10

What can I say except I liked the Game for what it is, a short puzzle sidescroller with simple yet artistic visuals that deliver the creepy atmosphere it is going for. The Game is rather short for round-about 90 min. of Gameplay. The Puzzles aren't complicated or hard in any way and easy to solve. It is great for everyone who isn't quite sure if they like the "Creepy Tales" Series or not.
