I like it but it's love-hate. Here are the reasons you might hate it, neutrals, and positives. + cute / charming in visuals and music + good if you enjoy screwing around and coming across ah-ha moments of understanding. But bad if you are annoyed by excessive trial&error being necessary to gain knowledge. ~ Normal mode is way easy. Hard is hard enough you will lose sometimes and have to pay attention. Impossible frankly is a pain. ~ minimal / unskilled storytelling ~ Good amount of content, but much feels samey. Variation is decent enough though. ~ Calling it a city builder may be a stretch. It's at least adjacent to what City Builder usually means. ~ Story levels seem to tend to have a pre-determined path to success which pretty much removes roguelike elements if you were expecting much significance to them. Instead it's more of a slightly changing puzzle game. - Baffling lack of info for a strategy game. This annoys me most. You're left guessing what buildings need what for bonuses, what buildings can turn into, their requirements, and more. The glossary not only is overly wordy and gives little info, you can't even read it without spending meta-progression currency. Wtf? - Minimalist UI makes much of the game annoying to figure out. - Because above problems, often a loss feels thanks to the game hiding fundamental information you haven't come across or memorized yet. It's not bad. I hope they change the UI to show better info, or at least give a free journal to read up on stuff.

This is definitely one of my go-to games after work; it's cute, charming, has just enough of a puzzle element/challenge to keep me interested... And it's perfect for Steam Deck! I'm slowly making my way around to unlocking everything and beating every level. Well done, Darenn! 😊

A very enjoyable short-run city builder game with a satisfying gameplay loop. The city-building aspects are simplified, so it feels a bit like a board game where you're trying to work out which tile would be the best use of your limited resources. The art and story are simple but charming, and it's obvious a lot of thought and love has been put into everything, including little details like the main menu and how you unlock new levels/content. The base difficulty allows you to figure out the mechanics and/or just relax while playing, but there are a variety of difficulty options and game modes that step up the challenge and really require you to think.

What an amazingly refreshing game. I was very surprised by how deeply I was able to become immersed in this game especially since I did not originally believe I would be. I originally purchased this game to play via Steam Link to my Pixel 10 XL Pro with my GameSir G8+ while lying in bed. It didn’t take long for me to start playing on my desktop as well. The art style is quite amazing paired with the soundtrack creates a really perfect atmosphere for the style of game. While it is relaxing it is also pretty challenging to play with each decision having weight, each character has a complex personality. This game really needs a lot more press. For this reason I nominated it for Game of the Year Steam Awards. I know it has no chance of winning, but this is truly my game of the year. I really adore how curiosity and exploration is rewarded in this and how the game progresses based on these rewards. Just an amazing experience that everyone who enjoys these style of games should play.

I really like this game. It doesn't appear like much when you just look at the previews... it looks rather simplistic, but I can assure you it is not. This is a charming resource management game with a tile laying loop that gives all kinds of little interactions for you to consider. Everything from adjacency bonuses to building upgrades, various upgrade paths, and there are even catastrophic events that occur you have to deal with. The whole thing is wrapped up in a really charming interface that is optimized for gamepad. This is a perfect steam deck game. The game has various story missions, but also contains a sandbox mode if you just like to build, and has various other unlockable challenges and things. Each of the story scenarios has 3 difficulty levels you can try against, as well. All in all, this is a really well put together game. At its heart, as I mentioned earlier, is resource management through a tile laying interface. So as long as that is what you are looking for, this game will keep you quite entertained! It's quickly become a staple of my installed games because I just get the itch every now and then to come in and complete a puzzle or something else. It's fun to unlock all those different modes. Overall this is definitely a recommend.
