Had a good time with it, despite some jankiness and bugs here and there. With that said, I don't know if there is any more value for me to get out of this game, even though there are planned gameplay additions and features with 1.0 release in September. Best of luck to the developers in their future project. I will surely stick around to see what they come up with :)

The game offers high-quality content. It’s easy to pick up, and you can start multiple sessions fairly quickly. The game is still in early access and shows good development progress, but there are still some minor issues. The game doesn’t seem well-balanced to me, and I sometimes find myself in battles that last several dozen turns.

Incredibly interesting synergies and unlocks for meta progression. This feels REALLY good. For 10 minutes, or even 10 hours like I didn't do today.

TL;DR: The game has a very niche gameplay style, but if you enjoy tactical roguelikes (like Mewgenics, for example) you can go in blind! There are just a few interface issues and the occasional small bug, but that’s what Early Access is for, especially since they’re honestly very minor. ART DIRECTION [*] Sound Design & Music +++++ : Probably one of the most immersive tactical roguelikes I’ve ever played. [*] Art ++++ : Really beautiful, with some very interesting and bold designs. The atmosphere is very well conveyed. [*] Lore +++ : The atmosphere is a bit mysterious, which is something rarely explored in this type of game. But the little bits of information you get during each run are enough to keep the spark of discovery alive! I can’t wait to learn more about the world as I keep playing! [*] Readability -- : Some environments lack a bit of contrast, and/or have enemy models that look a little too similar. (Empusa 👀) GAMEPLAY [*] Combat +++++ : A very classic tactical system in the best way possible. There are plenty of QoL features that make planning easier. It’s simple, effective, smooth, and free of unnecessary clutter. Really clean! The sound design and visual effects do a great job of making attacks feel brutal at the right moments, which is very satisfying. [*] Relics +++++ : The relic system and relic slot system are really well designed! Obviously, some builds are easier to set up than others, but all of them have a real way to win a run. On top of that, the game already offers a lot of flexibility, allowing you to adapt while still letting you “force” a build a little when you want to. [*] Enemies +++/-- : I’m a bit more mixed on this aspect. The floor bosses all have a very clear identity, with very different strategies, and that’s an absolute JOY, especially since they can force you to adapt your build, otherwise they might just kill your run. The same goes for regular enemies: each one has a clear identity, with well-defined strengths and weaknesses.BUT I’m a little worried that having only one ability per enemy might make runs feel somewhat monotonous in the long run. REPLAYABILITY [*] Meta Progression ++++/- : The game is well balanced enough that you can win without relying on meta progression. In fact, meta progression mostly makes your runs easier, but it’s not required to have fun. That said, I didn’t really feel like the game became harder as runs progressed, so as your meta progression advances, the game becomes easier and easier. Maybe a gradual difficulty increase over multiple runs would be nice, so you can enjoy the meta progression without eventually steamrolling the game. [*] Run Randomness +++ : The game’s biggest strength is the relic slot system when leveling up! The fact that there are usage constraints can REALLY shape the direction of your run. And yet, it won’t necessarily kill your run either. The game gives you ways to compensate for “bad luck” when you have a build in mind, you just need to think things through until you find the right event. For those worried about the randomness of shops: yes, there is some variance, but nothing that will prevent you from enjoying the game. Overall, it feels well balanced ! SUMMARY Overall, this is a little gem that isn’t fully polished yet, but is already completely playable and addictive enough to make you lose dozens of hours. If you enjoy this kind of game, don’t hesitate ; you won’t regret it.

This is a small but very worthy project. A rare find in the turn-based combat category. At first, I was surprised by the overwhelmingly positive reviews, but after playing for 10 hours, I was pleasantly surprised myself. Pros: +Amazing meta-progression +Balance +Build variety +Difficulty +Refreshing features for the genre +Unique and fun to play Cons: -Secondary storyline and music -Few mods and complications, but maybe they'll add them after leaving EA -A few small bugs, but forgivable at this stage (considering the volume of mechanics) The project is somewhat reminiscent of Griftlands. It feels fresh and makes the gameplay enjoyable. It would be great if the project expanded in content and developed further in the future, but even at this stage, I can confidently recommend it to roguelike fans. It's difficult to estimate the content length yet, but I'd estimate it's around 30-40 hours
