How the hell is a team with a fraction of the budget outdoing you this badly, Gamefreak? This game is the monster-taming game frustrated Pokémon fans have been waiting for. It's the perfect in-between between Pokémon's lighter tone and SMT's mature tone. The Digimon series has a tone that is between the two, having more serious topics and ideas than Pokémon, but still has more cartoony designs and aesthetics than SMT. Combat is very fun, and I'm a huge fan of the new Agent Skill system, which seems to allow for a lot of NG+ fun. The game's combat systems and grind to gain more Digimon in your team as a whole are a massive improvement on Cyber Sleuth's, which was already a very enjoyable system. I will say I do miss the Digimon-specific support skill system, but the new personality system is more than customizable enough to make up for the loss. Beating the game gives you a higher difficulty mode that will be perfect for people who wanna attempt Nuzlocke-style challenges in this game, which makes NG+ extremely appealing for fans who want a challenge. An absolute miracle of a game for Digimon, and I hope to God Bandai realizes that this means there IS an audience for this series. All it took was actually competent marketing.

Some ppl announced they'd be review bombing the game because of the delayed release download. Seems immature to me, so have my positive review to balance them until I can actually say more about the game. - Loved the demo though, the combat feels awesome, so there's that. Grinded that for 17h without getting bored, teambuilding is addicting. Edit: From what I can tell after more story cutscenes, the writing is actually decent. The first hour didn't catch me before with the demo, but it's better than what I feared. Areas also feel more lively than your generic NPCs of the first Tokyo visit. Negative reviews reprimanding DLC practises are absolutely right btw. The special edition is not worth it unless u crave that specific outfit or Digimon. The most expensive edition does *not* even include all release-day DLCs. Just buy the basic thing and grab 1-2 other DLCs you like. Or stay strong and don't reward their greedy cash grab at all. You can buy T-Shirts ingame to switch out of the ugly uniform.

First thing's first, for those coming from the demo who have had their save data say it's corrupted, it can be fixed. Turn off Steam cloud saving for the full game, open local files for the demo and the full game and copy the "savedata" folder from the demo into the full game, and it should work. I experienced the same thing and this was my fix. For the actual review, I can't say I've gotten very far yet, but so far, the game is fantastic. It looks great, the music is great, lots of QoL updates from Cyber Sleuth to this in many many areas, and the story, while so far nothing to write home about, is at least fun and goofy. The closest thing I can compare this to from personal experience is Persona 3: Reload, many aspects of this so far feel very very inspired from that, and it makes the game so much better for it. While I can't exactly come up with anything profound to say in terms of negatives so far, it was rather scummy for Bandai to keep the outer dungeons for grinding locked behind a separate paywall, even for those who bought the ultimate edition of the game. I don't think I can be so insulted by that to say the game is bad and you shouldn't get it just for that, but it still is not a great look. If you can ignore that, I have nothing but recommendations for the game in my experience so far.

Very important. First thing you need to do immediately after gaining control is open up the digivice menu, go into agent and change out of the ugly default outfit.

YESSSSSS An improvement on Cyber Sleuth and Hacker's Memory! Visually, gameplay, and of course the digimon! And my favorite girl Minervamon is getting awesome representation! Sit down, relax, and get ready to DIGIVOLVE!
