World of Final Fantasy completely won me over despite my initial skepticism about the chibi art style — it's essentially what happens when Final Fantasy and Pokemon have a baby, and it works surprisingly well, with a monster-stacking system that has more strategic depth than it looks. The fan service is genuinely delightful, seeing iconic FF characters show up as summons with their original battle themes hit me right in the nostalgia, and the story starts goofy but gets earnest and emotional in ways I didn't expect. Fair warning though: the game won't launch out of the box — you have to navigate to the install folder, right-click WOFF.exe, go to Properties > Compatibility, and enable Run as Administrator, which is embarrassing for a game that's been out this long and should absolutely be patched by Square Enix. Once past that hurdle the experience is lovely, though the 30fps lock is a genuine shame on PC and the final act does drag on longer than it needs to. If you're a Final Fantasy fan who can tolerate a little setup friction and doesn't mind a slower-paced JRPG, absolutely grab it on sale — just don't expect Square Enix to fix anything.

The first 30% of the game are focused on collecting mirages, weighing up your strengths against the enemies weaknesses, and adapting your strategy to your foe. Then you unlock Battery Powered and Maximum Output and the Game turns into a WW1 simulation where youre the Artillery, the enemies are lost orphans and there are no trenches to save them. Also saying that invincible has a chance of proccing is like saying that a coin toss has a chance of landing on heads. My man Iron Giant mogs every other mirage by simply deciding damage isnt real half the time. all in all 10/10 videogaming experience.

10/10 SteamDeck Game, runs at 31 FPS easily A great game, Traditional Final Fantasy game with monster collecting. Can sink hundreds of hours easily! Fully voiced acted. The game looks goofy at first since you stack 2 monsters on your head or 1 on top and ride the other, but its really fun. Definitely better played on a SteamDeck since it doesn't really require a powerful PC and controller friendly.

It's just a fun, cute final fantasy experience that you will probably get some laughs out of. Nothing about it really screams YOU NEED TO PLAY THIS NOW, but rather, something like, "Hey, this is here if you want."
