After 9 hours played, with one full clear and one failed run on the highest difficulty, I can recommend this game — but with a significant caveat. At its current state, €20 feels slightly overpriced for the amount of content available. There is clear potential here, and I genuinely hope the developers expand and refine the systems over time. Right now, the gameplay loop is very rigid. You select three heroes, progress through up to four islands, and defeat a final boss. Each island consists of 6–7 missions, which fall into only four categories: survive exactly three waves, attack an enemy village, rescue/protect a target, or complete the “chicken” objective. Bonus objectives add some variation, but they range from trivial to highly RNG-dependent. For example, you might unlock a cone attack dealing 2–4 damage and immediately receive a mission requiring you to “kill 3 enemies in a single action.” That’s technically possible — but often only if everything aligns perfectly. The roguelike structure also resets everything after each run. No permanent progression, no meta upgrades, no carry-over bonuses. A full playthrough takes around 6–8 hours (4 if you play at double speed). Given that length, the lack of long-term progression reduces replay motivation. Hero composition and item RNG play an enormous role. My first run with Hunter, Paladin, and Druid snowballed quickly. By the first island boss, my Paladin had so much shielding that the boss simply could not keep up. I cleared the second-highest difficulty without much trouble. In contrast, my next run with Ember, Bard, and Barbarian collapsed at the first island boss. No shields, almost no healing, weak item rolls, bad enemy RNG — and there is very little room to recover once you fall behind. The core gameplay loop is fun, and I can see myself returning to it a few more times. However, the game would benefit greatly from additional systems such as shop rerolls, limited carry-over progression, island restarts, more mission variety, or even visual upgrades when equipping items. There is strong potential here — it just needs more depth and long-term hooks.

Wow! 2 developers beat Nintendo + UbiSoft (Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle). I almost mistook this for a mobile-kind game because of the art style but the demo made me buy the game immediately. Its astounding what a few dedicated people can achieve - congratulations, you just made the world a better place for all the gamers that are going to play and enjoy this gem of a game, amounting to tens of thousands of hours of joy and happiness! Edit after 18 hours: What an absolute blast. Havent had this much fun with tactical combat since Xcom 2 - or maybe even UFO Enemy Unknown on my Amiga. This is a bubbling cauldron overflowing with the labour of love poured into the design, balance and art of this game. Thank you once again :)

"Oh, another dice game..." Except it's actually got heart, plays very well, can be made hard enough to be challenging. Great game, one of the few I've ever felt compelled to leave a left a review for.

This is by no means a bad game, but you constantly feel that the developers don't have much experience in this genre. Everything that's already in the game works well, and the amusing visual style doesn't detract from that at all. However, the game systems lack depth. In terms of mechanics, each character has a rigid archetype that the game does not allow to be shifted in any direction. The enemies, although they look funny, are also quite monotonous. I can't tell you how the basic fish enemy differs from the basic pig enemy: all they do is run towards you and try to hit or shoot you. The locations, although they look different, don't contain any additional mechanics to diversify the gameplay in any way. On the first island, there were still some attempts to make interesting missions, where you had to collect chickens and escort a cart. But on the second island, everything became much more monotonous. In general, this game is essentially in early access, even though it's not stated anywhere. I really hope that the developers will be able to earn enough money to add the much-needed content here!
