I write this as someone who generally doesn't enjoy fighting games; FighterZ is the one and only traditional fighting game that has ever managed to hook me, with well over 800 hours across all the platforms I've played it on. The reason for that is simple, it's one of the few fighting games I've played that is easy to both understand and pick up and play. My biggest issue with other games of this genre is that while their systems have great depth, to reach that depth you have to cross multiple barriers before you can begin having fun, and one of them is the input combinations. I simply don't care for the obsession of other games for making me do God of War quick time events for even the most basic moves, it ruins the fun for me. Not the case here, everything from specials to supers is simple and straightforward; a Quarter-Circle + a Button, that's it. There's no BS, to hoops to jump through, just an open invitation to learn the systems at play. This makes a world of difference in being able to enjoy the game, it allows you to focus on learning the neutral, playing mind-games, bettering your defense, learning advanced combos, practicing team-synergy, creating set-ups and mix-ups, all without having to worry about whether or not my hand will be able to pull off the move I want to use. For this, it's one of few competitive games where I've been able to have fun right off the bat, while improving my skills constantly too. This is all without mentioning how gorgeous the presentation of the game is, doing true justice to the show's artsyle, looking 2D while being 3D with many techniques like frame timing, model manipulation, smears, impact frames, and more coming together to make it feel true to the anime. It's clear the devs love the series and wanted to do it justice, as every move from every fighter is a direct reference to either the manga, anime, or a previous game, all the while not compromising game-feel. And of course, the Dramatic Finishes that re-create some of the most iconic moments of the series are some of the coolest things I've ever witnessed. The game does such a fantastic job at being like the show, that at times, for as tacky as it is to say nowadays, it really did make me feel like I was in an actual Dragon Ball battle. Words alone can't do it justice to how much I love this game. As a Dragon Ball fan, it's a love letter to the series, and as a videogame, it's the fighting game I've dreamed of my whole life. One of my all-time favorite video-games.

Great game, if you like dbfz and you like fighting games pick it up. this game can run on even the most trash pc. into 2024 there's still a pretty active community online. Wish they would bring back raids. the single player experience isn't too bad.

Fantastic Fast-Paced Fighter, was a great start into fighting games, with simpler controls than most other fighters, making it easy to pick up. Beautiful art direction, feels like I jumped into Dragon Ball, ArcSys was definitely the right choice to make this game. If you're a Dragon Ball fan I'd definitely recommend picking this up, It's on sale often so grab it while it's cheap If you think that you might not like it, I personally wasn't a fan of Complicated 2D Fighters (Street Fighter, etc.) But this was so easy to learn and pick up, it got me hooked on Fighters, and got me into the FGC.

A message for Mr Akira Toriyama .. Thank you for everything you did,for what you created and for the legacy you left behind! Every time i play a game inspired from the Dragon Ball Universe i remember moments from my childhood and the joy to watch a new episode from the iconic anime. Thank you for making my childhood better ! Rest in peace! Dragon Ball FighterZ is 2d fighting game,a visual marvel that captures the essence of the beloved Dragon Ball franchise. Every character and animation is rendered with incredible detail and the fast combos and finishing moves mirrors the iconic style of the anime we all know and love. Pros: - The art style and graphics faithfully replicates the look and feel of the anime, the attention to detail is incredible, to be honest i didn't expect this level of quality, the videos on youtube don't make this game justice because it looks a lot better - Expansive rooster, each character feels unique with their own set of moves and special abilities that stay true to their anime counterparts - Easy controls, beginner friendly allowing new players to execute impressive combos without needing to memorize complex inputs - Each battle is spectacular with fluid animations and special effects and impressive sound effects heightens the excitement of the battles - Packed with iconic locations, signature moves and memorable quotes Cons: - The game is easy to master in single player however for pvp there is a lot to learn,to master mechanics and strategies requires significant time and practice - Unfortunately to unlock some of the popular characters you need some DLC,this may feel like a cash grab My review score Story - 9 Gameplay-10 Graphics- 10 Sound - 10 Overall - 9,75 Simple ,fun and rewarding! It's the best Dragon Ball game i played so far and i strongly recommend for everyone!
