Awesome game. Don't let the erotic images deceive you, the gameplay is solid, being one of the best card roguelikes I have ever played. For the english-speaking, If you are worried by translation problems mentioned in other reviews, 99% was fixed, it is completely playable right now. If you like games like slay the spire, give this one a chance, it will surprise you for sure.
I expected some kind of Slop with nice art was like what the hell I will give it a try. little over two hours later I am still playing, Got my strangler max buff, my corpse maiden tank, Calamity lord (OP as hell) + Fallen Princess (maximum op), Skele dancer very powerful. Was dominating the field. Its a fun game story is absolute trash but I had a lot of fun. It's on sale and its not asking for a whole lot and I gonna thumbs up as the art is good, The game play is great its monster girls but tactical 8.5/10 keep up this level of work DEVs.
Just a good game. Look, I'm not going to claim its perfect, but that's fine. You build a squad before+during the run, and during combat each squad member can give you their cards to use; there's all sorts of Set items as well [these are items in 5 different player-equipment categories pre-game, you select an item in each category and they fundamentally change the way your game is played]. Additionally, during the run you'll be able to purchase equipment and give it to your units - and most equipment pieces will also provide an additional benefit if equipped to their particular unit; don't worry you're not shoe-horned into using certain setups or builds, there's a ton of variety and you can give any unit any item - additional benefits if you decide to go certain item+unit combination routes. Every chapter you clear unlocks at least 1 new unit for use, and then there are challenges you can accept before each combat, and some of those unlock new units as well (at the cost of needing to beat a mini-boss). There are some setups that are easier than others (in terms of execution/effectiveness); but there's a ton of build varieties and pretty much every unit is useful in at least one setup. I've found the ones I love, but I know there's even more out there I'm missing - and pushing myself to try new combinations or setups is fun. I know on normal difficulty every Set item and Unit can be made to work in multiple ways. Once you clear the main story mode there's (1) side chapters you can clear for even more units, (2) an Endless mode (a stage of 15 levels with randomized enemies and bosses; each time you full clear it you can make the next run of it harder and harder), and (3) a Boss Rush mode where you fight through the entire game's worth of bosses+minions, one after another in a row - this mode is NOT easy. I'm not going to lie, the extremely sexualized art and animations for boss-kills make me laugh; if you're not put off by a small thing like that then there's a lot to enjoy here. Additionally, there's at least 1 skin (alternate art) selectable for each unit; and then there's a units art having additional/different visuals if you're running a second/more copy of the unit in the group. The game was great even before they fully translated it, but now it's just very clear on what things do what (skills/effects/items, etc) - the translation is good.
Honestly just a fantastic game with great art, I love that the game allows you to stack ridiculous amounts of buffs and debuffs instead of limiting to it to just a few stacks like some of the other rouge-like games, it makes the god runs feels so powerful (kinda like in risk of rain 2), granted the enemy stats does scale to ridiculous amounts as well in the late game. Content wise I think its pretty much perfect, these decent amount of levels (5 main levels + 8 extra levels) and an infinite mode to let you fully complete the build you want to play, and a large unit roster for different team compositions (around 15 units to choose from). I would gladly pay for a DLC where the developers just added more levels so i can play more of this game. The only real issue i can see is that if you are not able to read Chinese the English translation can be a bit weird with some texts not fully translated, I am able to read Chinese but I still hope the developers address this issue soon, but the translation does its job and I would say most people can probably understand the card effects. Overall I highly recommend this game
Dream of Corpse Lady is one of those rare indie roguelikes where the deeper you go, the crazier the systems become. At first I thought it was just another card battler, then suddenly I was building infinite crit loops, autonomous card engines, poison chain reactions, and buff multiplication setups that completely changed how my team played. What really surprised me is the boss design. The game constantly throws mechanics that hard-counter greedy builds: retaliation bosses, anti-draw fights, stun rotations, anti-stall timers, untargetable enemies, shield/heal abuse, etc. You can't just force one broken team through everything — you actually need to adapt, reposition units, and rethink upgrades depending on the fight. The build variety is honestly insane. Every character feels mechanically unique instead of just having different numbers. Some runs feel like solving a combat puzzle, others feel like accidentally breaking the game in the best possible way.
