I'm sorry, but what is this....... It's freaking amazing! I played almost 2 hours now, and I can't wait to play more.... It makes me so, so, so happy. I'm a tailor myself, and I didn't know I needed a game like this. It perfectly captures the essence of dressmaking (toned down, of course), but it is so nicely done step by step. I love the way silky fabric shines and how it falls. Also great how they display the fabric and accessoires. They kept in mind different body shapes and sizes with the customers, which is a nice touch. I already hate Prudence, so that's great. I really got sucked into it. I played on the laptop, but I hope it will also play nicely on the Steam Deck. I was so sucked in that when I was sewing the dress, I literally went forward with my freaking foot as if I was sewing myself looking for a foot control pedal... I might come back to this review with more thoughts, but for my first gameplay, the first 2 hours... I'm hooked and in awe with how they brought dressmaking to life. Love It!
Really enjoying this game so far! The art style is super cute and I'm already invested in the story after 3 clients. It is a bit clunky on Steam Deck - getting the hang of it but still can't manage to zoom in on the mannequin. Will definitely have to try it on PC, but looking forward to playing more!
I was watching this game as soon as I saw an ad for it, I didn't do any early access so my first time playing it is on its release - and I LOVE IT! Sure, I've only played an hour, done two jobs, but this is exactly what I was hoping for. If you grew up playing dressing/dress design games you'll certainly enjoy this. Whether you prefer making quick designs or an in detail project, I've found it fun to do. The UI is easy to understand, I've found it more user friendly than other merchant/design simulators that can be rather hectic. I have some detexerity issues from a health condition, so I was nervous that I would find the game too hard to play, but the sewing assist is very helpful and you can adjust the speed, plus there is no timer so you can take it as you need to. It meets a nice middlepoint of assisting players, while not making it so easy that you feel like you are cheating at the game. Basically for me, it's not painful to use, and I still feel like I am playing the game rather than holding buttons. Now admittedly there are a couple of fiddly points, mainly when applying accessories to specific fine points. By instinct I try to turn the mannequin with the wasd buttons while I am placing things while zoomed in, but once you are placing a bolt of lace the movement isn't possible, but I think it's just because I'm new to the game so I'm probably pressing the wrong buttons. Though saying that I have played other merchant simulators that are a lot more finicky, so after some more time in the game it will probably be something I can do easier.
This game is everything I wanted it to be and more. This has been my most hyped game all year and am so happy to be playing it. As someone who constantly played fashion/bratz/barbie games that focused on designing and giving you creative freedom, this is the perfect example of what the grown-up version of those games would like. Plus the music makes you feel like a fairy princess, so that's a bonus.
