Few strategy games have managed to capture the twisted joy of being the villain quite like Dungeon Keeper 2. Released in 1999, this classic continues to reign supreme among dungeon management games, proving that sometimes, the original formula is simply unbeatable. At its core, Dungeon Keeper 2 retains the classic gameplay that made its predecessor a hit—managing a dark lair, corrupting heroes, and expanding a dungeon filled with monstrous minions. Yet, it builds on that foundation with refined mechanics and an undeniable charm. One of its standout features is the ability to take direct control of minions, allowing players to see the world from the eyes of their creatures. Charging into battle as an evil warrior or flinging fireballs as a Warlock adds a fresh layer to the experience, making the game feel even more immersive. Over the years, many sequels and even spiritual successors have attempted to recapture the magic of Dungeon Keeper 2, but none have truly surpassed it. Get's a positive because it's childhood nostalgia for me, running around in first person is such a fond memory. But game crashes on me when I try to close it to the point I have to reset computer, the cinematics are a little laggy but game play is not. Really wish we got a remaster on these, but am glad to have the games again. Requires you to download programs to play (direct something?) does have multiplayer functions.

Love this game, I'm so happy to have it again! It takes a bit to get used to the controls. This is one of the games that got me into PC gaming. Now we need Black & White!!

An absolute classic now on Steam, this game was a huge part of my childhood. You play as the Dungeon Keeper, building up your Dungeon to fight off the invading humans within your lair, so that you may one day make your way to the surface and begin the War for the Overworld (hint hint nudge nudge)

I bought this game back when it was released in '99. It became obsolete and unplayable until recently. It remains my favorite game of all time. The narrator is great and the sprites fun to watch. I can't recommend this enough. My only complaint is the lack of mods and new content. But what the hey - Bullfrog disappeared decades ago, and no sequel was ever released. Maybe someone will do something about it. :)
