The bad reviews are complaining exactly about what is the major draw of this game for it's players. This game is an infinite grind, with infinite progression. Every stat can be scaled to infinity, and there will always be a level you are too weak to beat. It is not a complicated game at its heart. You grind, get stronger, and then repeat, until you get tired and come back next season with a fresh update. If you don't like grinding for infinite progression then it's not your game, but if you're like me that's literally what you're looking for in some of your games.

Farming/Grinding/Timewaste the game. When I bought the game I was under the impression that it was a kind of roguelite, where you'd make a build every time you left the hub/"started a run". It's not. You make a build early on and stick to it for as long as you can be bothered to keep on farming. Every time you win a map, your reward is a bunch of currency and equipment to further enhance your build. The next run will be exactly like the first one, but with higher numbers. It's pretty decent for what it is, if you enjoy mindless farming then this is an excellent game, but if you're hoping for a game with variation, different upgrades, powers, relics or whatever else, then I'd stay clear. Your "build" consists of a weapon choice and a spell choice, the spell will be your main source of damage and the weapon is mostly cosmetic having very little influence on your build (hammer makes you invulnerable occasionally, bows and wands gives you range, the rest have no real advantages). It's a fine game, but you should know exactly what you're going into, it is farming, doing the same thing with the same spells and same weapons for hours on end, with the reward being only higher numbers.

fun game and impressive for being a 2 man team, for sure worth your $10. however, these reviewers comparing the dwarven realms skill tree to path of exile's skill tree are being completely disingenuous. the skill tree in dwarven realms is more like a less interesting diablo 4 paragon board (which is saying a lot considering how bland d4 paragon boards are). every node is super generic and provides a small % stat increase that's good for virtually every build, so there's no trade-offs or choices to make. this is compounded by the fact that you end up with 199 passive points, leading to almost the entire tree being filled out regardless... after all the hype for the dwarven realms skill tree i was massively disappointed by its simplicity.

great game if you enjoy the bullet heaven genre and also a bit of rpg elements. it has a skill tree, gear, crafting, base upgrading, mat refining for further upgrades. some things i think could be improved: - when pressing esc dont load the leaderboard, just give me the menu with an option to view the board - some gear comparison info on mouse over - some more optimasation (likely already on the cards but worth mentioning) - things are too spread out in my base, either pack it in tighter or let me freely move things - give me a popup if i've completed a daily so i know i have something to collect - a collect all button on the dailies - a breakdown of what did what damage after a battle - much needed weapon and ability balance (this could be fixed in multiple ways, making the weapon damage actually mean something, make the weapon/offhand interaction mean something etc) - make the damage types unique - fire burns, lightning stuns, arcane ignores res or something? edit: after playing this game more i have come to realise that there isnt actually that much going on, what you see in the first hour is what you get for the next 15h and so on. you pick your ability, equip the strongest weapon (currently maul) and proceed to gain small increases to stats forever while doing the exact same content you were doing in the tutorial. you get stronger so you can do higher number content where mobs have more hp and do more damage. while great for a min-maxing streamer, it gets kinda boring after a while. i will leave the positive review, however, because i feel this game has a lot of potential, it has already come a long way since i saw it in january 24. i think in 6m - 1y it will be in a way better state.
