As a fan of metroidvanias, platformers and soulslike games, this one really hit my sweet spot! It controls very fluid and has just the right amount of difficulty. Every time I encountered new enemies, I actually had to learn them instead of brute forcing it. You get just the right amount of healing. It felt perfectly balanced to me. The music fits the theme and aestethics very well too. The game doesn't let you pause the text from the story though, that could be a problem for slow readers, or a problem for fast ones too, as I am usually finished with reading it way before it even comes close to disappearing. Just a slight negative imo. Fast travel feels really nice. No unnecessary animations. You click on it and you're there instantly and can move. I really like that! However, I am a little displeased with the map. You can not zoom out enough imo, to quickly scan over it to search for paths you have not taken yet. You can't put markers on it either and every single upgrade, or even just puzzle, questline etc. is called "point of interest". Sometimes you have no idea if you've already done it, if there is a quest thats going to do something later, or if you're going to get another upgrade that lets you do something. I really wish I would not have to go to every single dot on the map, to see if I've already completed it. They should disappear once they're done. I don't really want to google every time I come across another "point of interest", just to make sure. Because of this, I've also not understood some things and how to do them. Sometimes a note talks about the "rituals" and that you gotta "stand at the right spot" but I could never get it to trigger. Maybe you gotta wait longer, I checked a guide and I was standing where I was supposed to at some point for sure but ohwell. Other than that, the gameplay parts are all very nice, I really enjoyed my playthrough!
I really enjoyed this game, found it fun and the boss battles where a little challenging. my only real complaint it is to short, I spent hours farming for the best upgrades to my gear only to be the game shortly after.. the upgrades are not even really needed. For the price 100% worth it though.
Spin the wheel of sacrifice! My favorite part so far. I did not like this initially. I started 3x characters before moving past the first area. I hated that you stand still when you attack. It sucks. But then I gave it another shot and I really like it now. The attacks feel very weighty and there is decent enemy variety. The world is dark and funny and a joy to explore. I wish the combat was more fluid and that there was a bit more variety of weapons etc at the start, but once you pick up some items it opens up. Not the best gaym I have played, but still good.
