We are no longer in Kansas Toto Tom Cruise has lost his wingman, he will step through the wardrobe, where there is no lion and the only witch is, well her name is Miranda. Oh, and there is plenty of ice-cream and TV. This game is more than a choices-matter, it's an exploration deep into the lives of 6 housemates, and their movie-buff companion Ian. Littered with movie references, the housemates banter hides the very deep adult topics, from alcoholism, gambling and illegal drugs, to guilt, pregnancy, and mental illnesses. Even growing old and the ultimate goodbye comes up. You have now been warned this game is a roller coaster. There is even an artist with a real film camera in the house, which reminded me strongly of Life Is Strange. A lot of action in this game. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3699646619 Flashing Images Game Mechanics are solid, and never rushed. Contains flashing images. Although the effect is never overdone, this game does contain flashing images. That's because, as the game description says, you will be flashing back and forth through time, with each change you make to the timeline resulting in a flashback, literally. Anyway, I found the controls for the timeline and game interactions were well thought out and after a while very intuitive. Initially the game gives you on-screen hints as to what buttons to press and where to go, but soon you memorise the layout of the map and of the controls and you are breezing along. For example the game does have a "run" key, and you will be using that as well as tactical choices to mean you do not have to traverse the map very much anyway. About half way though the game it will feel like the game could have been split into 2 or 3 games, because there is just so much going on. Worth trying to finish the game in one sitting if you can. Oh BTW the game saves you progress after each "playback". https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3699648006 Immersion Movie-buff Ian is the funny man while each character has a secret, and as you dig for it and try to use it to save each housemate you are bombarded by facts. And that all together builds realism because underlying it all are very real lives, some more boring than others, but ultimately every player will find more than one housemate to not only identify with but also to want to save first. And that's the frustration, because it is hard to save them all. And because you will have started to believe that the game is in fact true-to-life after a while. You will want to fit this game into your own understanding of the world. The game features 2 medics, and I think that hints at how gritty the story gets. I loved the realism and very current-events nature of this game which although all about time travel, becomes very much about 6 housemates. Get it now Before the sale ends. If not wish-list along with some of these excellently curated titles https://store.steampowered.com/curator/41773079-EmpathyGames/list/91358/

No sue why the top review I see is a negative with the most helpful clicks but I totally disagree and strangely I don't like teen/drama tv, I'm actually a 57 year old grumpy bloke. Really enjoyed the game and loved the characters and their stories. It was like being the "fly on the wall" and following the drama. I should also add that I hate reality tv but this is not about a bunch of drama queens hamming it up to get famous. You do need some patience in the beginning with the lack of a skip option but once you get though the start it's not an issue. The games tags should include its mostly a puzzle game but seriously its well worth the money even if you're the genius offspring of Sherlock and can finish the game in 4 hours and don't need to unlock all areas because you already know it all. For us mere humans it's great. I look forward to playing more hopefully as DLC's or a sequel if you must.

Simple and Good Story Tries to Be Bigger Than It Actually Is This game really pumps up the expectations so much: the trailer in the shop, the loading screen, the main menu and the first minutes of the game tell you: there's something BIG here. The whole world might depend on it. And it has time travel. So yeah, of course, I'm into it! Later though I understood that the scale was smaller, much smaller. Not in a bad way, though. The synopsis says: Eternal Threads is a single-player, first-person story-driven puzzle game of time manipulation, choice and consequence. Pretty vague, but promising, right? But it would be more accurate to say: ...Can you save all of the six inhabitants, if you have been given the power of time manipulation? . It is still not bad, yeah? Walking and Watching Cutscenes Simulator Hell, I don't know why my positive review sound like I'm scolding a game?! The gameplay here is extremely simple: you watch what has happened and try to change things, so maybe it will work out better. The "puzzle" part of the game is towards finding that chain of events that will click perfectly to the best outcome possible. But I am not trying to say that this is bad gameplay. It feels like a movie, which you can watch in any order, all of the scenes are interconnected, but no one prevents you from watching everything in reverse, for example. You know, there is a "Memento" movie that goes in reverse? You can try making it a "Memento" experience. Or focus on one story line and all variations of that storyline, before tipping the toes in other things? While this is 80% of "Walking and Watching Cutscenes", it is rather an interesting way of telling a story in free format and it is up to the player to decide how he wants it. I must admit, the "Walking" part made me bored here and there a bit, but the "Watching Cutscenes" was good. Butterfly Effect Simulator We take one house, one week and six people. And a ton of possibilities. Haven't you ever wondered on that simple question "What If..."? Oh, don't lie, we all have had these thoughts, it is a part of human nature, and game takes this urge of a human brain and gives you the power! And it is not a world-scale issues that changing, it is just personal lives. This is about having secrets, telling truths and lies, hiding and exposing weaknesses, and understanding that not every bad thing happening to us is actually bad in perspective. Aren't we all make mistakes, wrong decisions and having regrets of our past? This game touches these feelings a little bit, while remaining on a small scale, and tells a short story, gives you a glimpse to possibilities. And this is great.

One of the best narrative walking sims I've played. How certain decisions impact others was complex and also rewarding. I enjoyed learning about each person and encouraging them to deepen their relationships with each other. I'm hoping that with how the game concluded, some sort of follow up game or dlc is added in the future.
