No coop for me, no friends, but based on my single player exp the game is pretty much what you're expect from stuff like Minecraft and Hytale, WITH dungeons and more mobs to kill and instead of a stagnant base, its your floating airship that acts as both your ride and your base. I honestly feel it's more than what Hytale offers because there's more looting, gear drops, mobs to fight, and exploration. For me Hytale and Minecraft both bored me to death because it's just a world, you build, and progress through tiers of resources and that's pretty much the game. Everwind, for being EA launch first day is more interesting and fun than Hytale, least for me. I can't wait to see what things will get patched and added as of what it is right now it's already pretty amazing. Now I've wasted enough time on this review simply so I can help the devs out with a positive review, now leave me alone! I need to rev up my airship and score some more loot from the zillions of islands and move up higher in the sky for the next tiered ones. Loot goblins dream.

This game had me go into a 12 hour shift off of 3 hours of sleep because I got so locked in 😂 if you wanna fly around on a ship, see a beautiful world, beat quests, and raid dungeons with the boys, or just relax and have a calm night. 10/10 recommend. Hope this game goes the distance!

This game is basically what my teenager brain dreamed of when I played minecraft for the first time 15 years ago

Positives: - tutorials are good (you aren't just dropped into nothing and have to figure out everything yourself) - the music is good (i really like the peaceful parts...somehow reminds me of skyrim) - atmospheric graphics / visuals - weather changes dynamically (in my opinion this is a very good mechanic as it can change the atmosphere and vibe of the already quite atmospheric game) - good simple combat (it's not soulslike or anything, but it does it's job) Negatives: - zero matchmaking or server browser (might come in the future considering this is early access) - no dlss (might come in the future) Some context: Combat in the demo (released a month ago or so?) was atrocious...for me the game was unplayable... I am very pleased to say the combat now in early access is much improved. Enemies behave more "naturally" and less like robots that constantly spam attacks mindlessly I am quite surprised at the archer ai behavior. They wont just stand still and let you murder them like in so many other games. They will kite backwards or strafe sideways to present a bigger challenge - excellent design! Performance: I use an nvidia card and performance is good with avaialable upscalers, (I used XESS in performance mode and it maxes my fps with max graphics settings). Does not really seem like i would need DLSS. However when looking through spyglass at distant islands, graphics become very blurry / strange. But again, it's early access so there's plenty of time to fix this small issue. Final thoughts: It's quite apparent that these devs are sort of competent, they didn't release janky slop. It's very aparrent that they put decent thought into designing their game. Buy this game if you like simple, fun, gameplay in a beautiful atmospheric world with good music.

Game start is the same as the demo (which they should have left active, as it was quite good). So I feel like I've seen enough to know what they've got cooking. Which is a nice higher detailed Minecraft w/ QoL improvements... and airships. The basics are decent. Controller support is in already and is nice to see. I hope they continue to work on their quest system and develop a compelling story rather than it just ending up another procedural sandbox. For sure worth a try if you're into these types of games.
