Even though this game is short (sadly), I can explain why I would recommend this game to you (even if you're not interested in vtubers). ❖ In a Philosophical standpoint: "Evil God Korone" explores the paradoxical relationship between joy and fear. ❖ It forces the player to question how something as innocent as a cheerful entertainer can be transformed into an object of existential dread. ❖This taps into the uncanny valley theory. ❖ VTuber Inugami Korone (in this case), represents an eldritch deity—not because she is malicious, but because her very nature is beyond human understanding. ❖ This aligns with philosopher Emmanuel Levinas’s idea that encountering "the Other" can be both fascinating and terrifying. ❖ This game lends toward a Lovecraftian horror style mixed with references mainly from Korone's fanbase. ❖ It warps that cute and harmless fanbase into something cult-like and oppressive in the game. ❖ Ask yourself of this question: At what point does devotion become worship, and when does worship become horror? ❖ TDLR: The game is ok. Just be aware of the pros and cons parasocial relationships with streamers (whether western or eastern). I was going to click "do no recommend", because this game is hardly a game. That being said, I find the concept and story very interesting. The atmosphere is successfully creepy -- even though the jumpscares are cheap. The Korone shenanigans made me crack up, so that's a bonus :D
