TL, DR: it's like if the Lizardmen from Warhammer Fantasy had a no-holds-barred arena bloodsport where the goal was to kill as many people as possible for the amusement of mercurial deities. It's heckin' fun, it's cheap, and it doesn't rely on PvP because the devs are too lazy to code AI. Flowers and Deities is one of the best autobattlers I've ever played. I've been trying to figure out how best to convince you of that, but honestly you can play the demo and see for yourself. So instead, I'm just gonna babble a bit about neat stuff. You can: - Throw literally infinite slaves into a meat grinder. You could use their blood to cast spells, of course, but mostly it's just fun throwing them into the meat grinder. It is an end unto itself. - Fielding a vast array of metal-clad zombies whose minds have been psychically dominated by aliens from beyond the stars that crashed here and are now fighting tooth and nail (if they have those) in the bloodsport arena for... reasons. Probably. - Summon literal corn spirits (surprisingly not played for laughs) that use their spindly limbs to out-range and out-live their opponents, eager to feast on the blood left behind. - Amass an endless legion of undead, ensuring that every fallen enemy is just another body rising up to stab their foes. Also helps if you just use a lot of slaves and fuel your summoning that way, 'cause that's what slaves are for. - Have elite Nobles working together to support, reinforce, and organise to form a dang near impenetrable phalanx of IDGAF. You can also have them command the lesser units, I guess, but that's less fun than just having a handful of elites whooping butt. - Wield magic to decimate and annihilate your foes in ludicrous amounts. Like, genuinely, some of those spells are terrifying and I hate every time I go up against a Priest King. I was not informed I would have to slug it out with Slann and I do not appreciate the surprise. Really fun if you get them on your team though. - Have your own units hack themselves to pieces before the enemy can even approach so they can congeal the lake of blood at their feet into giant bloodthirsty serpents that run roughshod over the pesky mortals at their feet. Or tails, in some cases. - Launch cavalry (or even infantry!) charges so comically devastating that only a spear wall will thwart them, crushing the enemy's front line before they even have a chance to react. - Eventually field giant demigod monstrosities that are comically broken and joyously fun. Just remember you'll also have to figure out how to kill them, too. - Assemble an army of goldems who, upon death, simply split into still-active fragments of their former selves, multiplying with each death until the foe is overwhelmed by mud and gribblies. - Specialize heavily in magical spells you cast, enabling you to lob meteor swarms, lightning storms, fireballs and stuff like that to absolutely obliterate your foe's army without yours having to lift a finger. - Lob more slaves into the meat grinder, infinitely, just because it's really, really fun.

To be honest, I hadn't paid much attention to auto-battlers before this game, but the beautiful lizard lady in the screenshots made me give it a shot, and damn, this game has exceeded all my expectations. The Aztec and lizard theme, the various deities and origins, random events throughout the game without unreasonable RNG, a huge number of combinations, an equally huge number of uniquely designed units – all of this is executed quite well. After finishing the campaign on medium difficulty, I can say that the "easy to learn, hard to master" approach certainly applies here. It’s easy to get into, but to achieve your desired playstyle, you need to take a lot of factors into account. A special mention to the replayability. I often abandon roguelikes after ~3 playthroughs, because the gameplay style barely changes regardless of which stage I'm at or which of the 100500 weapons I'm using. Here, there’s room for fundamentally different gameplay experiences. A special thanks for the absence of a ridiculous EULA, the presence of a well-designed UI, the regional price, and (from what I’ve heard) a responsive attitude towards the game’s community on Discord!

Ima be so for real, I originally downloaded the demo because I saw a hot lizard lady, then I put 8+ hours into it. The game is peak, bought the game the minute it fully released. It feels criminal only paying 12$ for this game. Amazing Roguelite.

Good stuff. I get the impression I'll play this game a fair amount. Fairly simple but it's satisfying. I will admit the thing that got me to buy the game was the hot shop lizard. I'm a bit of a scalie connoisseur. I like the lizardmen in WH fantasy enough as well. These guys kinda make more interesting use of the theme of "mesoamerican lizards." I love lizards. If that's all you need to get you into a game, this game is quite enjoyable.

A great roguelike autobattler that scratches every itch I've had with the genre. Love everything about the visuals and how crunchy the gameplay can get in terms of builds and how builds can cross over and interact with each other. I put in over 50 hours with the demo alone and that was just a tiny slice from all the content. No idea how this game isn't blowing up. Devs are super active on their discord and take suggestions seriously. Look, if a dev is spending time to optimize their game so it's under 500mb in this day and age? They deserve your money.
