For being a dev first game FORWARD: Escape the Fold - Ultimate Edition is pretty good. Not one I would consider purchasing at the full price, at least 50% discount speaking genuinely as you will be fighting the same bossfight, just in a different order (except for the last 3). Even so, this game offers a range of different strategies from each character and different skills you unlock by surviving through different dungeons in between runs. For example, one is all about gaining as much armour as possible so you can tank a lot of damage, another one is about repositioning visible cards so you can select the one you want whilst avoiding to fight enemies. Another one is all about making an omelette by collecting eggs to increase the effectiveness of a beneficial visible card like heal cards and coin cards. It's fun to mess around with and get in tune with varieties of playstyle, some being ridiculous like one I mentioned but it works. The whole game is all about surviving your encounters, planning and choosing pathways that leave you less vulnerable. Taking advantage of rewards as well as cards that negatively impact you like giving you poison or blinding you for a few of your moves. You can use it to your benefit as some passive positive cards may be helpful to you more or only work if you take some cards that enhance you negatively which is advisable to complete runs in this game. So as you can tell, FORWARD: Escape the Fold is an easy enough game to get into that can last for hours but I must warn you to save a backup before uninstalling if you do end up getting it as it doesn't save automatically to your platform, even with it having cloud. It doesn't seem to work at all as it is intended, so be wary of that.
