Wow I LOVE this game! Interesting stories and perfect level of fun puzzles and eerie environments. It's one of those games that makes you feel like you've gone on an adventure to other places and times. Very magical!

Yeah, it's good. Feels like a high production VR game with some good puzzles with decent story and performances. I haven't really played something from this group since the first The Room game on my phone, so it was a mostly blind experience on what I was expecting. Is this game scary? Nah, not really except during some maybe moments but no really obnoxious jumpscares. Complements - It looks good. Detailed, high quality assets and nice lighting. Most of the environment captures the setting really well. Something about dreary England sets the atmosphere for the occult nicely. - Puzzles are good if a bit easy. Basically an escape room structure. A heavy focus on tactile focus for VR immersion (move this crank, position your tool, etc.) Sometimes you can get stuck if you don't realize you can do a thing, but I think they tried to mitigate this by limiting what you can interact with. Complaints - I do wish there was more interactables, the artifact room was pretty cool for having VR toy goodies, but interactables generally don't come unless they have story or puzzle purposes. - Feels like there should be more, might be how the game ended like a TV show that isn't sure it's getting another season or feels like certain areas should have puzzles but just end up as set dressing. It is also short playtime. Maybe hope for a sequel or DLC, but wouldn't bet on it.

Wow! Just wow. This game is what VR SHOULD be like! It's beautiful, the environments are so well design and fun to be in and look around. It has a terrific story - basically you're a medium in a world where magic and spirits exist and there are professionals who deal with them both in the private sector and in government. You are on a quest to uncover what happened to your brother, and you will have to help trapped spirits while doing it. It has great voice acting, not the cheap phoned in kind you usually find in indie games, but proper actors who sound believable. It has actual character models that don't hide their face behind a mask or a frozen robot face and have decent animation to them. It has terrific multiple mechanics, you move things, you operate computers, sometimes different objects would be hidden in the same place, depending on the angle through which you look - there's a lot of cleverness here. And the puzzles are great, the small ghost stories are great, sound design is terrific. Seriously I have to give a round of applause to the developers, this feels very polished and professional. I honestly can't say enough good things about it. Play the demo, you'll see. But honestly, I wish they had let the demo continue just one part longer, because I think that's when you REALLY get the spirit (no pun intended) of the game. In short - this is a HF:Alyx level VR game (although of course a very different game). Enough said. Honestly, I have only played for 1.5 hours, but even if this game has the typcal VR game length of 3-4 hours of game play, it is so rich and well made that even its full price is an absolute steal! Go for it! EDIT: Now that I've completed it, I gotta say it does suffer from the typical VR problem of being too short (took me about 4 hours, and I got a bit stuck on one puzzle), but I stand by my recommendation: IT'S TOTALLY WORTH IT! AND, it seems like they've set it up for a sequel. SO my advice to the developers for the next one: 1 - make it a bit longer. 2 - It would be refreshing to be doing something else but solving puzzles. Or maybe just have puzzles that are a little less "the Room"? Don't get me wrong, you've shown a lot of originality with the different mechanics throughout the game, but I don't know. Maybe Puzzles that are solved by talking to people? Maybe puzzles that can be solved in different ways? Maybe an action sequence here and there? This game is a gem, but it does feel like a proof of concept from time to time. So I would definitely expect the next one to be significantly more AAA than this one - and that means a lot more content. Anyway - great job! Looking forwards for what's next!

I have completed the game. The game is good, but it's still a Quest port with the many limitations of mobile/phone gpus, like having only one animated npc present at once. Thus locations are small, often barren, and most objects cannot be interacted with (limited physics - compared to Room VR, Ghost Town has no physics for cloth movement and wind). On the more positive side and compared to the Quest 2/3 standalone version it's a fine game with many greatly enhanced textures, effects (like smoke and fog) and some realtime lighting and many dynamic shadows. The enhancements are so profound that if you have the Quest version already, you'll surely want to upgrade to this premium version instead. The PCVR version is 30GB according to the devs compared to 13GB for the Quest standalone version. I've uploaded some screenshots with comments here: https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561197970329732/screenshots/?appid=2496180 All screenshots show Index res 300% (=27 million pixels per frame combining both eyes) with in-game maxed graphics settings. I'm using an RTX 3090 with Index at 80 Hz, and although I'm getting 80 fps many places, I have activated motion smoothing in case of more demanding locations. Controls are fine, you can pick up the flashlight with whatever hand you'll like. There's smooth and snap turning, teleport and full locomotion etc. Locomotion is locked to the left controller. There is no finger tracking for Index controllers, but Index controllers are fully recognized by the game. Puzzles aren't too hard and generally much easier than Room VR, in fact some puzzles are so easy that these are close to making the game feel like a walking simulator. The story is weak: you're looking for a missing brother and work like some kind of ghostbuster. Note that this game is no horror game, it's a simple adventure game with some spooky and occult content. I would have appreciated better physics and more object interactivity, and much harder puzzles. Npcs do look great, especially with the high-res textures and dynamic shadows, but are constantly placed behind some sort of barricade, so for some strange reason devs keep you from getting very close to npcs. The sum of all parts do provide a polished and enjoyable experience though, my rating is 6.5/10 - especially due to the very poor second half of the game and the ending - it all felt too rushed and repetitive. The game is also very short - I took 5 hours, but I'm slow - I bet many can complete the game in 3-4 hours. The game has no/little replay value. Btw, in another Steam review this game was described as GOTY 2025, but I'd currently reserve such considerations for The Midnight Walk and Arken Age instead. Also my rating of Room VR would still be 10/10 - but Room VR is very special for the amazing atmosphere, and much better puzzles and gameplay. Ghost Town is a fine game, but it's far from the same level of quality for both story and puzzles as the PCVR version of Room VR. The House of Da Vinci VR and especially The 7th Guest VR also have better stories and more demanding puzzles than Ghost Town.

Ghost Town is easily one of my favorite VR experiences. From the moment I stepped into its haunting world, I was completely drawn in by the atmosphere. The developers have created an environment that feels both eerie and immersive, making every moment feel alive with detail and tension. The puzzles are another highlight — challenging without being frustrating, and always rewarding to solve. Each one feels thoughtfully designed to fit the theme and setting. Honestly, I love every aspect of this game. The visuals, sound design, gameplay mechanics, and the sense of exploration all come together in a way that makes Ghost Town a standout title. Highly recommended for anyone who enjoys atmospheric VR adventures! Here is my gameplay video - https://youtu.be/A6Ia43cWV2g
