A great game to play during spooky season! It plays like an open world collect-a-thon, but with a spooky vibe. The combat feels sort of basic, but each encounter is a visual delight. Eventually you get enough abilities to just dunk on all the ghosts you encounter, which never gets old. I've put in over 100 hours through the years, having played through the campaign multiple times, and I've spent a lot of time in the rogue-lite mode as well. It's worth a play through if you're in the mood for something spooky but not necessarily looking for horror.

Pros -Great story! -Good game play -fun Cons - Repetitive - To many souls to collect - Pain to find all the lost souls Take away I enjoyed the story and game play, you get a sense of empowerment pulling out 4 enemy cores at once. I got to the point where I would just run away from most battles by the end of the game due to repetition. Collecting lost souls was fun at first, but I had to walk away from this game 3 times just because I ended up spending Hrs doing nothing but running around looking and collecting souls. Its a fantastic concept for this game, however felt like the amount was over kill. If they where easier to find around end game it would make it feel less of a chore. Other than that, its a awesome game!

Underrated. Very fun, wish the performance was better, despite running it on hardware way above the recommended, stutters and frame drops were unavoidable, similar to the evil within 2 so its on their side.

I was born in Tokyo. Ever have an effect of "strangely familiar" or "nostalgia" from liminal space pictures? That's the effect this entire game has on me. It takes a familiar place to me with the insane attention to detail down to the streets, temples, subways, and even konbinis and homes where I'm reminded of my childhood. Then, it adds unnerving elements to it, particularly the Visitors (or enemies) and the Spirits you have to collect. Also, for an open world game with a lot of collecting to do, it was incredibly fun! I would have moments where I would be jet lagged going to Tokyo and would have nothing better to be doing than randomly walking around the streets at 3 am. Going around the streets doing just that in Ghostwire: Tokyo to get the collectables reminded me fondly of just that! Overall a blast and a half of a game in a location that holds a special place in my heart, and even others can appreciate the beauty of Tokyo by playing this game!

Ghostwire: Tokyo is a game that envelops you in the mystique of nighttime Tokyo. It transports you to a world where legends come to life, and the silence of empty streets is filled with the whispers of spirits. Every step brings a sense of mystery, mixed with the thrill of discovering the city's intricate details. The atmosphere of rain reflecting in neon lights creates an feeling of coziness and enigma. Here, you don’t feel the urge to run - you just want to walk, observe the shadows of the past, and listen to the stories left behind by ghosts. The magic in the game feels fluid, almost ritualistic, and every encounter with a yokai feels like a moment of connection with an ancient culture. Ghostwire: Tokyo is not just an adventure - it offers a chance to truly experience Japan, its soul, and its myths. I really liked this game!
