Only three hours in and I really enjoyed it. Still following the story missions and loving the different mecha you can pilot. So far my favourite one is the one that can turn into a jet when it boosts but the others have specal abilites as well. Like shoulder cannons and a shield. It's a great survivor like with some cool mecha themes.

Just incredible. If you like the Armored Core, Macross/Robotech, Daemon X Machina, or basically any "high mobility mecha" series, game, anime, whatever, you're gonna love this game. Early access? I mean, I hope they finish the whole game, but I just got through the available content and I'll still be playing this on and off and I can say they already entirely earned my 14 buckaroos. The people making this *nailed* some of the tropes from the genre. Do you love when Rick Hunter looses the swarm of missiles at enemy units? Check. Ever wanted to pick up a Phalanx and point it at things you don't like? Check. Did you spend more time in Armored Core Six ice skating around with your boosters? Well... no.. me neither. But the booster thing is done really well in this game, and it is really fun to just zoom through groups of enemies unleashing hell. Targeting a tank in front while skating behind his friend at a tight angle so neither turret can traverse fast enough to stop the rocket you're about to put in it's bac It's built around the roguelike vampsurvivor style framework, but instead of playing the same level over and over and over, they take the mechanic of building your mech as the round progresses and attached it to a story. So the levels are different. And you can play any level again as much as you want. And instead of needing to chase those little experience cookies that explode out of enemies, the game just gives them to you. So it feels more like rapidly leveling through a traditional action RPG. I love chasing cookies and those magnet mods in other games are a nice dopamine hit, but so is slapping a drone in the face with a 30mm HEAP round and then being gifted the chance to upgrade your missile swarm, kicking it off it's cooldown just in time to loose a volley at all the little drones friends. (wouldn't want them to feel left out, now would we?) You start with a loadout you choose (.. somewhat. This is limited given it's Alpha, but it's not *that* limited. Three mechs at present, 15aug25. A bunch of distinct and cool secondary weapons, five weapons for your main, and two unlockable mecha, though their customization is not implemented yet, assuming it will be) and then as you earn XP smacking down enemy tanks and drones and whatnot you open up tech to use while you fight. It works really really well. And then there's all the tiny details... the way the rounds your firing leave little hot metal holes behind (cwis go BRRRRRR). The way different enemy units fight and coordinate (No idea if they were actually coordinating, might just be emergent, but air units coordinate strikes, for sure. @*#1@#! flyers with the emp missiles XD) In it's current state, the main questline is a few hours (unless you get stuck on level two like I did because you're tired. then add two or three hours. Lol.) maybe three or four? others have said three. But I'm on (updated: 42.5 hours as of the updates to this review. I've only had the game since the 12Aug25, this update is being posted the morning of the 17aug25) or so grinding out the extra stuff (which they totally didn't need to include, but just to completely tickle the Armored Core pickle it would seem, they put stuff to do after you finish the story. With rewards no less. Just phenomenal. Probably my favorite game I've played so far this year. But then, I have a lifelong H.O. for all Mech and Mecha games, and I'm have a "developing" addiction to roguelikes (... *applies rubber band to upper arm, taps vein* I can quit any time I want!). If you don't like either of those things, maybe make like Luke and Ben and move along. But if you like either, this is your jam. I guarantee it. (plus there's a demo, so just do what I did: Play three minutes of the demo, fall instantly in love, and then support these incredible devs so we can all play this more eventually. : ) )

This game is awesome. Think Armored Core meets Bullet Heaven. Fantastic game. My main request is the ability to use weapons in the offhand instead of a shield, but this is a minor complaint overall.

They have different dialogue if you manage to defeat the optional bosses which is amazing with a capital A. Actually made me feel like a badass not to mention the combat is really smooth and the sound design is top notch Though one problem I'm having is that my laptop screen is relatively small so the ui gets overlapped during the loadout selection, I can't click the right half of the option. it also hides the first ability and the last secondary weapon during gameplay. Its not a deal breaker for me but it is pretty annoying
