I work on guns IRL as a side business / hobby this game is really quite enjoyable for going through the motions of your own gunsmith shop and all the things that go into it (except the ATF thankfully) It is a very high level arcade version if you want to just keep spitting out guns its great. Hold the mouse and spin the part. I wish there was more player interaction other than just the leaderboard on the range also - let us bid for guns against each other etc. Let us design things for a monthly prize - lots of ways it could go. Also an expert mode would be a huge step... I wish the lathe/mill work was a little more detailed than just hitting a button - there are even mobile games with more machining than this. A lot of being a gunsmith is the creativity and machining skill or personalization and sadly its just not captured here. It is more just assembly and disassembly. This game could go to a whole new level if each step allowed manual interaction (and mistakes) in a more advanced mode to truly let you build things. I'm not just assembling a 1911 with a rail... I'm smoothing a feed ramp, adjusting the trigger squeeze, adding some gold inlay and threading a barrel. But overall a great game and hope they keep adding to it.
Gunsmith Simulator absolutely nails the part where you take guns apart and put them back together. It scratches that very specific “I want to meticulously disassemble something and pretend I know what I’m doing” itch perfectly. Unfortunately, everything around that is… kind of dull. The gameplay loop doesn’t evolve much, and the gun selection sits firmly in the middle, not bad, but not enough to keep things fresh for long. It’s relaxing in a very slow, methodical way, but don’t expect much beyond the core mechanic carrying the whole experience. Great concept, solid execution on the guns themselves, just wish there was more game wrapped around it.

But that’s part of the fun — it’s light, fast, and oddly relaxing. There are even leaderboards for gun disassembly and reassembly times, which adds a bit of friendly competition. The gun selection isn’t massive, but it includes plenty of iconic and recognizable models. There’s even some old flintlock stuff — a bit of a joke addition, but amusing nonetheless. It’s the kind of simulator where you “finish work and go do more work.” You take orders, clean, repair, assemble — and it’s strangely meditative. But eventually, repetition starts to creep in. ✅ Pros: ✔ Extremely detailed disassembly mechanics down to the smallest parts. ✔ You can test your guns at a shooting range — a very cool touch. ✔ Simple, intuitive economy and progression system. ✔ Cozy workshop atmosphere — calm and mechanical. ✔ You can create your own collection bunker for display. ✔ Educational value — you start realizing how complex real firearms truly are. ❌ Cons: ➖ Repetition — eventually, it all becomes a cycle of similar tasks. ➖ Limited number of gun models so far. ➖ The trailers and store page make it look more expansive than it really is. ➖ Some content (like antique weapons) feels filler or gimmicky. ➖ No real storyline or motivation beyond upgrading your workshop. ➖ Can start to feel more like routine than discovery. 📝 Conclusion Gunsmith Simulator isn’t a blockbuster, but it’s a relaxing and technical experience — something between a puzzle and a workshop meditation. It’s satisfying to understand how guns actually function, and for a few hours, you really do feel like a craftsman surrounded by precision and metal. 👉 Rating: 7/10.
