If you're a fan of the first Legend of Grimrock and you've grown tired of playing mods with the same tileset, this game is for you. The game isn't long and it's simpler in all aspects from mechanics and progression to puzzles and map layouts, but it's still pretty fun. Dungeons are filled not just with monsters, but with secrets and traps, atmosphere is eerie, graphics are good and the music is great. One common misconception I see in a lot of reviews is that you're forced to fight enemies head-on, because they damage you when you try to move. That is simply not true. Enemies can attack you only when they've finished moving, so you absolutely can lure them into wider spaces and then strafe and attack, while evading damage. Only few bosses lock you in a fight, and this is where you'll need those potions you saved up.

HI THIS IS MY REVIEWS TALL HAT JUST A FEW CAPITALS UNTIL ITS FINISHED, TO MAKE IT LESS CONCERNED WITH MOCKING TALLER REVIEWS... ..It gets self conscious! (shhh!) great game idea (old school), ok so it does have a map in wich case so far the game is excellent and nostalgic!! sorry Cedric! ya know if ya want people to find your controls put them in the in game options?? ;) I noticed them in the end out of game on a small tab of the launcher, thats ok but it would really help in game options! (pending completion)

Very basic dungeon crawler that will scratch the dungeon crawler itch for most people. It's not up to the level of Legends of Grimrock, but not many are, but it's a good classic dungeon crawler like the Eye of the Beholder style crawlers. A good indie effort. It was good fun and takes anywhere from 4-6 hours per dungeon run. I finished it a couple of times to use all the classes. 6.5/10

If you like games like eye of the beholder I & II, and legend of grim rock I & II, this game is for you. A nice, non complicated dungeon crawler, with solid puzzles and entertaining combat. Try it!

A fairly decent "dungeon crawler" with a reasonable balance of exploration and fighting monsters plus a fairly basic character progression system, largely based on equipment found. The graphics are pretty good and the music is excellent. No real puzzles to speak of, other than finding keys to open locked doors that allows further progression in the dungeon, but quite a few traps. It has a good auto mapping system. It takes a while to get use to the "flee mechanics" where you take damage if you move away from a 'facing' monster. However, you can damage the monster if it is 'side on' to you and you are very quick. The game seems to be free of software bugs. It took me about 16 hours to complete. The game is also very cheap.
