Karate Survivor is a different take on the Survivor roguelike genre. It's highly inspired by the 80/90s Jackie Chan movies (There's the iconic usage of ladder as weapon). There's an interesting combo system, the graphics are pretty good, the music is fun, the controls is standard. It's not a hard game, even on the legendary. Because, when you reach the point of unlocking the legendary probably you already upgraded a ton and that point you're already overpowered, unless you decide not to do it. It took me almost 24 hours to get 100% achievements because the last achievements was grindy AF and that's the reason that less than 5% got it. But in none of my sessions I felt like I was forcing my self to play this game, I got 100% because I wanted not because I needed. If Alawar releases a sequel of this game, for sure I'm going to buy it. I recommend.

It's easier on my eyes than other survivors type games. I like that there aren't flashing lights all over the screen, and that getting more powerful doesn't equal the screen being filled with chaos.

The unlock system and diverse move sets keep the gameplay fresh and exciting, giving you endless ways to take down enemies. Every upgrade feels meaningful, making you more powerful while keeping the challenge engaging. I can’t wait for the next update—if the current game is this good, the future is looking incredible. It feels like a game made by a good programmer who doesn't know and have never played vampire survivor type games but somehow managed to make an outcome. This isn't a vampire survivor game since you never really level up during the game but yet gives similar vibe. The upgrades are made after hours of playing the game so it's not even rogue-like since every start of the game isn't the same. But it rarely gives the satisfaction of leveling up so it almost feels like rogue-like in that sense. A very weird game failing to fit in any type of games causing identity crisis of its own rather than creative disruption. But it's cheap. Not gonna thumb down this one. <번역> 이 겜은 뱀서류를 아예 알지도 하지도 않은 좋은 프로그래머가 어찌저찌 만든 결과물같은 느낌이 든다. 게임을 하는 도중에 레벨링업하는 건 없어서 뱀서는 아닌데 비슷한 느낌을 주긴 함. 업그레이드같은게 게임을 하면서 주어져서 시작점이 다르므로 로그라이크라고 하기도 어렵다. 근데 레벨업을 한다고 만족감을 크게 주는건 또 아니라서 로그라이크같은 느낌이기도 하고. 이게 창의적인 혁신을 가져온다기보단 이것도 아니고 저것도 아닌 애매한 유형이라 정체성 위기를 겪고 있는듯한 느낌이 든다. 근데 뭐 싸니까. 비추는 안하겠음
