Cute casual game with decent production value. The gameplay isn't terribly exciting so it does outstay its welcome and get a bit grindy at around the half-way point. If that turns you off a bit, consider one of the bundles during a sale. That said, there are some pretty baffling decisions, like - skill points from level ups being largely worthless until you clear the game - Making Mines not Mine while the game is closed. As for the mines themselves, the gem mine is useful early on, but they are otherwise pretty useless after world 5 and just steal income you could use on much more effective upgrades; XP mine aside, by game's end they account for <1% of your total lifetime income (XP mine was around 10%). YMMV. - Exponential cost for consumables (same curve but for the item's level and without the ability to buy a stockpile would make way more sense) As such, you may want to save them to blitz through worlds 10 and 11 onwards. The Picks and abilities that let you nab a consumable effect for free are quite useful though.
"Keep on Mining Worlds" is the incremental clicker / idle sequel to the game "Keep on Mining". In this game you hover your pickaxe cursor over a board (world) full of rocks to mine them and collect gems. With these gems you can upgrade your pickaxe, abilities, and unlock new worlds. Rinse and repeat. The game took 6.5 hours to fully complete 100%. Time is highly dependent on the upgrades you choose, some are much more useful than others. + The game is addicitve and fun. + Music and sound effects work well enough. + It's a clicker game, where you don't have to click 100,000,000x. Easy on the wrist. - There is no story. - The ending is super basic and not interesting. - The upgrades and abilities are not balanced. Some are amazing, many are useless. - Too similar to the first game. Nothing introduced really new or original. Fun dopamine boosting time waster, but nothing extra special for the genre. Overall: 7.5/10
number go up (okay but in all seriousness, I really love incrementals with evolution trees, especially a gazillion of them, across like 50 different ways to level stuff up. it's overwhelming, it compels me, i play it until my wrist screams at me and then i play it until my wrist loses its voice, and that's generally what i'm looking for in an incremental so i'm happy. my wrist, however, is in the middle of writing a letter to the developer and will get back to me).
