This is a really terrific game my only gripe with it would be that there should be some way (maybe a journal of some kind) to keep track of the current story beats/ objectives. When you're coming back from not playing for awhile it's difficult to remember what's going on and what to do. That being said I had an absolute ball with this game. Terrific voice acting and a very enticing story.

Picked this up impulsively on a sale after hearing it mentioned in a video or two... didn't play it for months. Just consumed it entirely in one sitting and I just want more. This had me super engaged the entire play through and I can easily recommend this to anyone who likes a good mystery. Hope to see a sequel or something similar come out in the future.

*Rural radio station with a cheesy B-horror flair. *Late night show with groovy tunes. *Serial killer on the loose. *Electric narrative in the vein of best slasher films. *Corny silliness galore. *Phenomenal voice-overs. *Fun, creatively implemented puzzles. *Pretty picture with moody lighting. *80s throwback flavor. ~~~Unadulterated spooky entertainment~~~

Bought this game on sale. Not normally a huge fan of horror games because I don't like jumpscares, but the premise was too good to pass up. Atmosphere is easily the best selling point. Tons of little details that both scream 80s and are *legally distinct* nods to pop culture and major names of the decade. The game does a great job selling the comfort of your main recording room; I immediately felt uneasy as soon as I crossed the threshold, the few times I needed to leave it. It gets even more tense the farther away you are from that tiny booth. I won't comment too much on the actual story, but the characters were done very well given how little actual time some of them get, even less if you don't make the right decisions. I definitely felt the emotions the characters were feeling in the performances, so massive credit to the acting and direction of the voice cast. Not easy to do, considering the most you actually see many of these characters are in Polaroids that you only see at specific points during the story. There are horror movie references littered throughout the character and location names, as well, because of course there are. Controls are very similar to Amnesia (at least according to my friend who was watching me play it), and that's not a bad thing, but it never really gets used in the main gameplay. You can control doors opening and closing very precisely, but there's not much difference between peeking around a door and slamming it open. You might need to inspect certain items while holding them to read text, but you may not even need to do that, since most text was big enough for me to read it comfortably without zooming in. There is no loading once you begin the game though, which means that objects you pick up and move around stay where you dropped them for the rest of the game. As you help out more callers through the night, the items you collect as part of puzzles can fill up the recording room as you set them aside, which was a nice touch for me, as the room filled with memorabilia of both my successes and my tragic failures. The branching narrative is dependent on how you respond (or don't respond) during certain conversations, as well as your success in the puzzles. It's definitely possible to complete all the puzzles correctly the first time, but some of the decisions you make don't feel like you know the right answer for sure until you pick one and have it play out. I got a couple of those decisions wrong, and even after those decisions played their course, I wasn't sure what the correct decision could have been. There were only two decisions where I felt this way though, out of the ~15 characters you have a hand in protecting. There is some replay value, but only if you're interested in hearing all the different dialogue options. There are achievements for getting both the best and worst possible endings, as well as a speedrun-related achievement. No unlockable rewards other than new music tracks to play, but the music is pretty good, so no complaints from me. Plus, the only gameplay is interacting with objects and selecting dialogue options, so there isn't much you could do there. I definitely enjoyed my playtime, and if you love the 80s aesthetic and horror movies of the time, it is probably worth picking up, even at full price.

Usually slow-paced stuff makes me impatient, but this game throws that out of the window. After watching Jacksepticeye play it i fell in love. The background music keeps you in suspense as you try to save the citizens from death. It makes you think of ur choices. 10/10 game. It would have been cool if there had been more scenes with The Whistling Man interacting with the player. :)
