Solid. It is the usual "build up your base/economy/army during the day, fight progressively stronger enemies during the night" setup. The twist here is that during the day phase, your options regarding new buildings, units, or resources come in pairs, and you only get to pick one of the options from each pair. You draw a certain number of such pairs every day, and then you have to decide: build a windmill to grow the economy, or get a swordsman to strengthen the army; recruit a unit, or build a defensive tower; build a building you wanted, or get extra resources to build a more expensive building you wanted; and so on. Sometimes the draw is merciful, and you easily pick the options you want, and sometimes it is unmerciful, and you agonize over which of the mutually exclusive picks to select, knowing you badly need all of them. It works really well to deliver interesting and tense situations.

Pretty good. i actually played this for 9 hours straight... when I closed the game for the first time Steam said 8.8hours then adjusted to 3ish.. Im not sure why..Actually a solid game.. Idk what all the hate is about.. I kinda dont like how the RNG feels... It almost feels like it artificially limits you so you cant really get ahead.. On the Survival Levels it bascially became impossible on level 30 where a hoard of these healing enemies spawned and I was only able to kill 2 or 3 of them despite having 15 towers and a 100man army fullly upgraded...All in all I paid $5 for this game.. so Ill give it a solid 8/10.

The modern gaming landscape has warped people into not really understanding what a bad game is. Bare in mind I picked this up in 70% off sale so it cost me the same as a bottle of fizz. It is simple and easy and once you have your strategy that works you can repeat that until you see credits roll. It's shallow but there is some mental engagement required, it looks pretty, it functions as intended with no bugs. A real shame as I feel with a £5 price tag instead of a £8.50 tag than the reviews would be much more positive as it feels more akin to a £5 game. Having said that a lot of people are leaving negative reviews and giving the impression that the game is bad when really it's just a little pricey and bareboned and does not deserve a lot of the negative reviews it's getting. One of the few games I own out of over 1,000 between this, Epic and GOG that i really feel would have benefitted from a 'Meh' review option. This is being voted as bad when really it's fine just bland. This is also a solo developed indie game and should be regarded as such. I've seen much bigger with far more create games that where far less.

We really need a meh button. It's not super bad but there are many similar games out there that are waaay better. It feels cluncky and uninspired.

If you’re looking for a quick-hit roguelite with card-based mechanics, this game will catch your attention at first glance. There’s a compelling foundation here: you’ll manage a settlement under siege, draw cards to deploy troops and buildings, and fight off relentless waves of enemies. The card system itself is easy to grasp and delivers those satisfying deck-builder moments, and for short bursts of play, it offers that "just one more run" feeling. Some players will find themselves drawn in enough to rack up dozens of hours. However, the game’s systems start to buckle pretty quickly under prolonged play. Army management is a sore spot. Your troop creation is severely limited—building an “army” often means fielding just a handful of units. Meanwhile, hostile waves scale up rapidly and unevenly, overwhelming defenses you don’t have much agency to shape. Early-game towers are vital, but as things escalate, they become more like material sinks than saviors. There isn’t much tactical choice, creativity, or satisfying progression in fortifying your settlement. Your walls fall predictably, your center base is a last stand, and then the run ends, often in frustratingly similar ways. The lack of deck modification or meaningful upgrade choices beyond what the random draw gives you can start to feel stifling. Defense units are few and basic, and they struggle to keep up with more numerous, faster, or tougher enemies. Once you get the rhythm, it’s hard not to wish for cool additions like ballistae, wall traps, or at least more interesting upgrade paths for your core structures. Resource trading and special events could be a highlight, but currently feel shallow and under-cooked, with trades that seem to punish rather than tempt and event choices that rarely matter as much as they should. There's clear potential: with more variety in units, real deck-building opportunities, smarter scaling, and expanded defensive options, this could be the addictive time-sink some players already see. As it stands, the simplicity comes off more as limitation than design, and most runs start to blur together. If you don’t mind some grind and love testing yourself against overwhelming odds over and over, you might enjoy the challenge for a while—especially if you’re just after a casual deck-based distraction. But if you’re after rich strategy, customization, and satisfying progress, you’ll likely tap out before long, wishing for more depth and polish.
