This is a really surprising game for me. I did not own Kingpin when it first came out in 1999 but I remembered the controversy surrounding it. A friend of mine recommended I check it out last year and I am really glad I did. I discovered an unusual but very interesting singleplayer campaign whose lacklustre story is made up for with some really cool game mechanics and fantastic environmental design (Viktor Antonov of HL2 and Dishonored fame was the art director). With MH's patch (very easy to install) you not only benefit from a bunch of fixes and modernizations but you'll also be able to join multiplayer games. Kingpin games are played every Thursday and Sunday. I can confirm that the KP community is a great bunch. In addition to deathmatch and the amazing Bagman mode, the community had added tons of maps, new game modes, and they even host seasonal events. Highly recommend you give Kingpin a look if you want a unique Quake engine game experience.

Pretty good shooter, corny. I was expecting it to be more gritty. But it's a little openish, but clear linear progression. Would recommend if you like old school 2000s shooters. :)

It's a classic game. I used to play it more, but I ended up purchasing the Reloaded version with this included and realized I liked living in an era of gaming that didn't remind me of the carnage of the 90s. Those trying to run this game on Linux systems, I bestow upon you THE COMMAND that makes it launch. At least on Ubuntu derivatives. MESA_EXTENSION_MAX_YEAR=2005 %command%

This is a FPS urban-themed game from 1999 (or possibly 2000?), think along the lines of DOOM or Quake but better. The single-player campaign is fun and great, though can be very challenging, especially at a higher difficulty. The multiplayer community is still active and plays different game modes to keep things interesting. I highly suggest playing for both single player and multi-player. Yeehaw!

I played this game as a kid when it was first released in 1999 & had a lot of fun back in those days playing single & multiplayer. This version on Steam is EXACTLY the same as that original 1999 version. With a few QOL updates & improvements thanks to mh's patch available on kingpin.info on top of the outdated official update to v1.21 (the most updated version available now) this game is ESSENTIAL for anybody who wants to experience the nostalgia hit of playing this classic shooter again in it's original unadulterated form. "Yo man, u got a dolla' ?" "Nah, I ain't got a dolla'" "Aye get back to me when u got a dolla' huh?"
