Had multiple play throughs but this is my first time completing every quest and almost all achievements (didnt complete the bestiary) Took me about 16 hours of play time on this playthrough with 1000+ in game days and my characters are level 42. Cant recommend enough

-A celebration of the highs, lows and idiosyncrasies of role-playing, with a solid turn-based battle backbone. -Cool concept which is combine traditions of fantasy video games and nerd culture than through a game where you role-play as a role-player -Good sense of humour -It’s really fun discovering how the various combinations play out as you level up and put stats into different abilities, and you can swap players in and out of your party at the tavern. -The cons of this game maybe just had a bad data saver -One of my fav 2D RPG of all time, love this game ever since I was a kiddo (2016) 7.8/10

I ummed and ahhed about whether I wanted to give this a positive review or not, same as the other game in the series. Knights of Pen and Paper are fun games but after a while they begin to feel too much like a grind. So great to start meh to finish. Suppose its on me for playing both of them.

I thought this would be a fun game to play on the Steamdeck and to some extent, it is. Although some of the writing is quite fun, the main issue is that once you've opened up the map and seen the locations it has to offer, you start feeling like every "quest" you go on is just another run through something you've already done many times over. Since the progression, character and equipment mechanics aren't too deep, you're left completing quests for a small purse of gold. It gets extremely repetitive and has an underwhelming end. The DLC adds much more of the same. At no point did I ever see the benefit of swapping out one of my already leveled characters for any of the new classes I came across. It's just far too grindy with no payout. Currently, the game is on a super sale for $1.99. At that price, you definitely get what you pay for and I wouldn't recommend you pay much more than that. I'm giving this a positive review due to the low price I paid and the fact that it's not a disgusting cash grab like their third installment. P.S. The KoPP3 is on mobile and it's by far one of the most microtransaction-filled and predatory games I've come across. I highly recommend you avoid it like the plague.

Full completion is a bit too grindy, although some grind is expected it just gets very repetitive. Even doing the story got quite repetitive, but it's still a fun playthrough the first time around.
