I initially despised this game. I found Larry's voice acting to be grating, the jokes to be ill-timed & ill-intended, and the premise to be profoundly puerile. But my love for mad-cap point-and-click adventures along with some well-designed inventory puzzles eventually won me back. I also must admit that the game isn't as misogynistic as it initially appears. All the characters are flawed, and many of the women, while objectified by Larry, are written with more depth, albeit typecast depth, than they'd need to be as mere objects. Larry is never presented as anything more sinister than a perpetually horny and rejected loser. And while he might go to creepy lengths to get laid, besides being conversationally crude, and having some plot-justified antiquated understanding of acceptable behavior, he doesn't really do anything to hurt or offend the women (or anyone else) around him. By the end I was rooting for the poor guy. The production must have been low budget as corners were cut that shouldn't have been. Anytime an inventory object is used, Larry reaches out an open and empty palm that really should be a modified character animation with the item in question. Almost no incorrect item combinations have unique responses, a typical source of comedy gold. The ending felt abbreviated, though the epilogue somewhat mitigates that. I dabbled a bit in Leisure Suiting in my own hormone-driven adolescence, and I suspect that earlier me would have appreciated much of this humor more than over-the-hill me. But even over-the-hill me found the classic tail-chasing game-structure to be simple, moderately compelling, and even on occasion, ironically sexy.

Bought this game on discount - great adventure, took me about 10 hrs to complete. Ability to enjoy this game depends on your tolerance to silly poop jokes. I'm personally past the age where I found explosive diarrhoea funny, the game sometimes overdoes those and gets gross, but generally it's quite fun and lighthearted story about always horny middle-aged guy, desperately trying to get laid. I haven't played any previous titles, this game walks a fine line by always hinting, implying and comically representing really perverted stuff, but never actually showing anything overly explicit, so this is not a porn game. I find art style and voice acting quite pleasant, puzzles are really good, my favourite type actually - when items almost always are used in some non-conventional way, which still somehow makes sense. Larry felt a bit annoying in the beginning, but towards the mid game I found myself sympathising to him, as his silliness is quite charming and his misfortunes are amusing (to contrast that with Deponia series for example, where protagonist sometimes can be quite cruel and mean). I wanted to keep playing after I finished the game, I'm going through part 2 as I write this :)

Done. Mostly liked. Ok, let's dig a little deeper :) Good: - Humor - Easters - Just a little of sex theme (it's hard to call it 18+ game, though no sex actually shown, even the naked boobs are very occasional ) - No time-pressure: easily playable drunk and relaxed. - The clues and information are *mostly* good and points you in the right direction how to solve things. Not good: - No autosave. You must manually save the game otherwise the progress going to be lost. - Animations are cheap: only the basic actions and some key cutscenes are properly animated. - If you expecting Larry to get laid - this routinely goes bad and all "sex" episodes are turned into a joke . At least there is humor. - The main story is not complete without epilogue (not a bad thing, and the epilogue is a must after main game is done). Do not try it before finishing the main game - spoilers. - Got stuck with few puzzles. ended up looking in a walkthrough. - The game shortens near the end, left me with an impression there should be just more content. No epic "boss fight" either. TL;DR Entertained, jokes are (mostly) good. But there is no replay value once done.

I enjoyed the game: logical puzzles, a pleasant atmosphere, and decent jokes. It's a shame that the game's developer shut down. I really wish there were more games about Larry. I recommend it.

A very good and funny game. A game that actually made me laugh a couple of times. This a big compliment coming from me because usually I don't chuckle at comedies. I do enjoy being entertained by them but I find myself more amused rather than laughing at them. The jokes in these games were good and got me to laugh.
